Say hello to the beautiful Coach House B&B in Derby, a boutique bed and breakfast with 7 amazing rooms. This was a total treat for my birthday and it was an amazing stay so I had to pop up a little review about it. Literally 10 minutes from Derby city centre, around 30 minutes from Nottingham and 10 minutes from National Trust Kedleston Hall is this lovely little B&B.

The rooms are really well priced, the breakfast was amazing (cooked to order as well as cereals and juice waiting for you!) and the Coach House has incredibly decorated rooms with all the Lotus Biscoffs you could eat. This place is so gorgeous. As they say on their website, ‘We do the simple things well. We provide a warm welcome, comfortable beds and cooked to order breakfasts with quality, locally sourced ingredients where possible.’ – This is all true. If I’m honest, the bed was maybe a little soft for my taste so if you’re not a feather fan when it comes to pillows, perhaps take one of your faves with you to guarantee a great night’s sleep.

There are 4 standard rooms are in the main house and we stayed in one of the three superior rooms in the self contained stables building. These rooms have been refurbished and individually styled by White Rabbit Interiors and they are awesome. TV, great WiFi (enough to stream Netflix is good enough for me!), hairdryers, lovely bathrooms, toiletries, robes and ironing boards and an iron mean that the rooms are really well stocked.

One thing I have to say is that the room that we stayed in could have definitely done with some blinds as there were only curtains and when you just want to chill in the room or get ready, you have to have the curtains closed to avoid being seen by your neighbours coming to and fro their rooms!
The service was so lovely, we only had contact with one member of staff but she was really helpful and friendly. Plus, there were brownies in the room so, if that’s not a great welcome, I don’t know what is. Finally, there are only 4 parking spaces at the B&B but as there’s only 7 rooms it’s not too bad if you get there early enough. But, there’s plenty of on road parking in nearby Darley.
As part of our stay I was taken to Darley’s restaurant which has held its position with two rosettes in the AA Restaurant Guide and has received recognition in the Good Food Guide for over 15 years and is Michelin recommended. It is seriously amazing food and is a very short, 5 minute drive from the B&B. I’d definitely recommend popping here for dinner if you’re staying at The Coach House for a treat weekend.
