3 new in spring beauty finds

With weather changes, lighter days and hopefully rising temperatures, my skincare routine always switches up around March time from the heavy winter nourishment to slightly lighter moisturisers and a move from heady winter scents to fresher and floral scents when it comes to perfume. I love spring and I actually love a bit of change because it feels refreshing so I wanted to share some lovely new bits that I’ve been using and will be using into the spring season.

1. Moisturiser

The first product in my new in spring beauty mini haul is the super cute Caudalie Resveratrol [Lift] Face Lifting Soft Cream. Apparently this is the number 1 anti-ageing range in France!* This natural moisturiser is lightweight, non-greasy and whipped whilst it replenishes skin and helps with anti-ageing and it smells lovely – sweet herbal tea, chamomile flowers, lavender water, thyme, sage and mint. I think prevention is better than a cure so I definitely use a bit of anti-ageing skincare at the moment, switching them in and out as my skin prefers a mix of products. This moisturiser has Micro Hyaluronic Acid which helps to increase the natural hyaluronic acid production of the skin’s cells.

I’m loving how nourishing it feels and it’s a great night cream. I alternate between an oil, an overnight moisturising mask which I featured in my winter glow post and a moisturiser like this one when I want to add tanning drops too. This is the 25ml sample that I received as a press sample and it also comes in a larger 50ml tub. I love a smaller size because I like to change my products up often and I tend to take ages to finish huge pots of skincare!

2. Perfume

When I think of ‘rose’ as a scent I don’t automatically think I like it. If I was to buy a scent based on reading something about it I would go for a vanilla, sweet scent and would probably steer away from florals as they can have a slight ‘old-lady’ stigma. But, the new L’Occitane Rose EDT is beautiful! It smells amazing, is so fresh and elegant and is a lovely alternative to my other perfumes. The great thing about this scent is that they’ve also come out with a range of fragranced water that all compliment the Rose EDT in a different way. L’Occitane kindly sent me the Burst of Relaxation fragranced water and it just adds a lovely edge to the scent. You can wear the EDT on it’s own or mixed with the fragranced waters.

Opening with notes of pink pepper, accompanied by lychee and raspberry accords, the fragrance soon gives way to an utterly rosy heart. Rosa Centifolia infusion from Grasse, obtained using an exclusive technique that fuses modernity with tradition, mingles with Rosa Damascena absolute, rounded out by violet leaf absolute. Finally, base notes of patchouli, amber and white musk leave a warm, lingering trail.

3. Hair

I first heard about IGK when they took a load of my fave bloggers to Miami on a press trip with Space NK and I spotted it on Lily Pebbles and Kate La Vie’s blogs and YouTube channels. The brand caught my eye then but I hadn’t got round to picking up any of the products or trying anything until now. This baby is the IGK Hair Beach Spray that I bought myself from Space NK.

I’ve picked up the little 60ml / £10 version, it also comes in a 177ml size which is £25 to try to see if I like it before taking the plunge. So far, I like it. It gives really good texture but I’m still experimenting with how much of the product to use. It smells incredible though – like a Hollister or Victoria’s Secret store – literally amazing! The texture it gives is good and beachy and it is weightless like it says on the tin! It’s salt-free so it doesn’t give that crunchy thing that salt spray does and it also has UV-protection which is great to use whilst you’re actually on holiday or in the summer. I’d love to try a few more products from the IGK range, they have a ‘Dirty Spray’ which sounds really interesting but I definitely want to try some other higher end hairsprays to see if I can find my perfect one. I haven’t tried the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray so if anyone has – let me know about that!

This post includes some gifted items from Caudalie and L’Occitane but I bought the IGK hairspray myself.
