Fresh Beauty & Haircare For Spring

It seems to be cold and grey and gross in the UK for so long that when the spring time rolls around and we actually get some sunshine we all freak out and think it’s summer (put those shorts away guys, it’s not warm!). But, it’s still kinda chilly but there are definitely some changes happening with the weather. My skin and hair always go a bit weird when the weather changes, does yours?

Hair today, gone tomorrow

Anyway, in order to combat a few weather changes I like to change some of my products up and I’ve been trialling three new things for the past few weeks. First up is a hair care product from Aveda, a brand that I’ve not actually used before and now I have no idea why. I really want to take a visit to one of their salons and get them to work their blow dry magic one day soon. Let me know if you’ve visited an Aveda salon.

I am actually obsessed with dry conditioner and have no idea how I ever lived without it! You know when you have second day hair and you pop some dry shampoo in the roots and you think you’re good to go? Yep, usually. But, sometimes if I actually want to style my second day hair and not live in pineapple land the ends can look so dry and gross. This Aveda Shampure Dry Conditioner is absolutely amazing for refreshing, detangling and conditioning the ends and making them all soft and cute again.

Magically matte

I’ve also been trialling the new Clarins Pore Perfecting & Matifying Foundation and Clarins Pore Perfecting Matifying Kit. The kit is all about controlling shine and achieving ‘pretty skin wherever you are’! It has super cute oil-blotting papers and a translucent, light-weight powder that soak up all the day’s oil and make my skin flawless again. I absolutely love this product and the packaging is also amazing, how cool does it look?

I’ve not had as much luck with the foundation yet, it’s not seemed to ‘stick’ to my skin like other foundations do so it’s not seeming to last as well as I thought it would. It’s quite a moussey texture so it’s quite hard to blend. I’m trying it with all of my primers too, to see how it lasts, so, I’ll keep you updated. Let me know if you’ve tried this foundation and what you thought?

Bright eyes

On the subject of refreshing every-thang. I picked myself up these new Air Optix contact lenses. I was with Specsavers for so long and they were just getting too damn expensive for me so I decided to get my contacts online recently. I actually get my contact lenses from Smart Buy Glasses where I picked up these amazing Tom Ford glasses from my recent blog post about not wanting to blog full time. They’re a great, easy to use website and they’ve got some lush spring frames in their new trend collection so definitely check that out if you’re after some new sunnies for summer!
