3 Ways To Jump Into Spring

When spring rolls around it can take a little time to re-adjust from the chilly winter months but recently I’ve been trying to embrace change a little easier and be a bit more chilled. This being said, I’ve just had the most chilled weekend ever. It was really slow paced and I enjoyed not rushing out of the house at 8am to fit in a gym session and not planning my meals too meticulously. Chilled out is all good. I’ve also been absolutely loving this amazing weather we’ve been treated to for a couple of days so I took the chance to celebrate the first moments of spring with a little life update. Here are my three tips to get yourself in the spring mood!

1. Spring-ify your wardrobe

This weekend I packed away all of my thick knits and scarves into vacuum packed bags and whipped out all my summery tops and denim dresses! I’ve also added a couple of new pieces to my spring/summer wardrobe and this always gives me a bit of a fresh outlook on life and a new lease of style life! I picked up this amazing pink faux leather jacket from Warehouse which I’ve been absolutely loving recently. I’ve also added some fancy new sunglasses by Saint Laurent to my collection too which are making my outfits feel so much more put together when the sun comes out. Do you pack away your winter clothes when the sunshine comes out? Or are you an all year round, everything type of gal?

    

2. Revamp your interiors

Another way to #StartTheSwedishWay is to indulge in a little Scandinavian minimalism and give your home a spring clean. I’ve added this cute hexagonal copper mirror to our bedroom and it’s just given it a little lift. New or rearranging things and having a spring clean always makes me feel fresh!

3. Mix up your flavours 

Taking the Swedish way of life means adding some Swedish flavours into your weekend plans too, right? Definitely! I’ve collaborated with Rekorderlig Cider on this post because they’re all about freshness, being energetic, starting spring off with a bang and basically having a sweet time. We can get into such ruts with what we drink and what we do even when we’re socialising so why not try mixing things up with some new flavours! Try making some fresh cocktails, scour Pinterest for some easy canapé recipes and invite your besties over for a BBQ.

In Sweden, the last day of April is called Walpurgis Eve where they have a celebration for the start of spring! There are bonfires and public parties across the country and the following day, Walpurgis, is a public holiday.  It’s basically like our May Day but a hell of a lot prettier I expect!

The classic Wild Berries flavour is amazing and my uni favourite – Strawberry-Lime (best served over ice with fresh lime of course), Rekorderlig Cider is perfect for spring get togethers and Easter fun!
