London Food Diary: Spitalfields & Shoreditch

The food in London is always top of our list when we visit, grabbing things that we usually wouldn’t be able to, heading to some of our favourite restaurants and finding new gems. Here’s a few favourites we ate during our latest trip!

When we arrived we headed, we checked in at the beautiful Hart Shoreditch hotel and then headed straight out to Spitalfields Market to grab some snacks and a quick drink. We ended up at Humble Crumble devouring an apple crumble and custard topped with meringue pieces – this was delicious. Obviously the cost of things in London is something we always forget about until we get there so £6.50 for a ‘regular’ crumble is pricey but it was very tasty. We then popped and had a quick drink at The Gun, a pub just opposite the Benefit side of Spitalfields Market – they had Beavertown on tap which is always a win. Read More

Hair related ‘problems’ are common among both men and women. Though tweezing, plucking, shaving, using depilatory cream, or waxing have been the most preferred hair removal methods, the temporary solution they provide isn’t always a winner. So, why would someone spend all their time, money, and energy on such regular methods when an advanced hair removal solution is available? Check it out if hair removal is up your street.  Read More

Gift Guide: What to buy the person that has everything?

AD Gifted with Historic Newspapers

What do you buy the dad, grandad, step-dad, uncle, father-in-law that has everything? Whether it’s their birthday, Christmas, Father’s Day, retirement or just because – sometimes these men in our lives can be hard to buy for. Especially, I find, if they’re not ‘typical’ blokes that, according to gifting and card websites like gifts that involve sheds, football, Only Fools and Horses or generic pints of beer. Read More

Tidy Friday: Sophie & Alex’s Kitchen

Here are some before and after snaps of a recent kitchen organisation project in Nottingham. Sophie and Alex are baking addicts and cook from scratch A LOT. So, it’s safe to say they have lots of ingredients but they also had an amazing amount of space in their recently renovated kitchen but they didn’t know quite how to use it in the best way. Plus they had a habit of buying things they already had in. I left them with a shopping list of items they DON’T need to buy for a while! Read More

How To Make Exercise More Fun

If you don’t already know that exercise is good for you, you must be living on the dark side of the moon. All the time, we hear how we should be spending at least 20 minutes a day on physical exercise. But unfortunately for many of us, exercise is simply not a priority. Many of us have busy lives, can’t find time to exercise, and, let’s face it, do not enjoy working up a sweat. Exercise is seen as boring, despite the benefits it can offer. Not only can it help you keep your weight down, but it can help fight illnesses such as diabetes and can flood your body with happy hormones, which can make you happier and stabilize your mood. Exercise is also a excellent way to build self-confidence. Nevertheless, exercises can be a chore. So, with that in mind, we have come up with a few ways to help you put the fun into exercise. Anti-aging fermented skincare with Florena [AD GIFTED]

This post includes gifted products.

I’ve been trialling some new skincare from Florena over the past few weeks and although I’m not sure I can vouch for the anti-aging effects of these products I wanted to share my thoughts as the products were gifted.

This whole range is fermented which is interesting and I wanted to find out more about what this meant. We’ve all heard about fermented food such as kimchi and other pickles being super good for you so why should it be any different when it comes to skincare? “The fermentation process is a natural way to break down a substance into a simpler form, making it more powerful. The fermentation process allows skincare products to be more efficacious and much more absorbable to give you the best results possible, in an effective and natural way!” – According to Boots.com. AD – Can our DIY projects join the war on plastic waste with Hippo?

AD – Sponsored post with Tembe DIY and Hippo Products

You’ll know that we love to do DIY, decorate and change up our interiors but of course, this can come with lots of rubbish, packaging and unfortunately plastic waste. But, there’s a DIY company here to try and make a change. Hippo are declaring their ‘War on Waste Plastics’ in the constructions industry and is going green! Did you know that 23% of plastic produced in the UK is consumed by the construction industry and 25% of construction packaging waste is plastic? Shocking, isn’t it? Hippo believe that no one can do everything, but everyone can do something so we’ll try to be a lot more eco-friendly with our choices of DIY materials in the future.

[AD Gifted] Summer jewels

I never knew I needed a sunglasses chain until the Mare Pearl Beaded Sunglasses Chain came into my life. When it’s super hot in the summer I’m not a huge jewellery wearer apart from maybe earrings because I get too hot and sticky! Plus, I worry about suncream getting all over nice rings and necklaces. Having a sunglasses chain is not only super practical (who knew that granny chic would extend this far?) and it can add something extra to a simple and chic summer outfit. I wear a lot of plain tops and denim shorts in the summer too so adding some beads and pearls with gold accents makes it more of an ‘outfit’, don’t you think? Read More
