I picked this beautiful blusher up from Superdrug this week and had to share it with you because it’s so pretty, perfect so summer. It’s a stronger summer blush and easily lends itself to the perfect tanned, bronzed look. It may be more suited to brunettes as I can’t see this colour working very well with blonder hair just due to the intensity of it, if you’re blonde and it works for you, let me know, I might be wrong. This is Sleek blush in ‘Sahara’ and at only £4.49 it’s a bargain. I actually picked mine up for £3.04 because of student discount and a tiny bit of Superdrug Beauty Card Points!
This is another (& the last) of my duty free buys from Tokyo. I’ve had my eye on this for a while after I’d had a recommendation on Twitter for what to pick up in duty free. I don’t own any bronzey-peach blushes like this, the majority of mine are quite strong or deep pinks so this is a nice change for me. It looks really good with a tan and makes you look more tanned when you wear it, I like it just above a matte bronzer contour for a bit of shimmer on the cheeks. It’s described on the MAC website as a mid tone beige with gold pearl. It is such a pretty shade and I’m really glad I bought it.
This post comes to you courtesy of a pretty amazing boyfriend. Picked all by himself, bought all by himself, I had no idea this was going to land on my desk the other night all beautifully wrapped next to my cup of tea. Such a good boy.
MAC Sheen Supreme isn’t a line that I’ve even thought about trying, I haven’t strayed away from the usual bullet shaped packaging at all but this is a little beauty. In a gorgeous deep purple/red colour, Good to Be Bad is an amazing texture, buildable to a deeper colour and is actually really nice once it’s worn off too. After worn for an hour or so, drinking, talking etc, it was still looking really good, obviously it had lost it’s shine but there was a good stain left on so it didn’t look like it had worn off too badly! A plus point, meaning that you don’t have to worry about your lipstick 24 hours a day if you wear it like some.
I’ve been dying to try this GLOW highlighter from Topshop for ages now! I took the plunge and bought one the other week on a procrastination trip to town. I went for the ‘Polished’ shade as opposed to the darker ‘Gleam’ one because I thought it was slightly prettier and would be more suited to my skin for this time of year as I’m not as tanned as I would be in the summer. This gives such a gorgeous highlight and is perfect for the tops of cheek bones and brow bones.
Happy Valentine’s Day! Here’s a sexy little red polish to get you all in the mood for tonight.
I haven’t done a nails feature for so long. For some reason, I’ve just started going off a lot of colours of my nail varnish, perhaps because it’s the winter time and I don’t think that bright pinks and minty greens look right at the moment with my outfits! I’ve been wearing pillar-box red or a really dark burgundy pretty much non-stop. I like a good nude too but I’ve been really focused on reds for a few weeks now. I picked this gorgeous red, which is in between the two I’ve been wearing, in the airport on the way home from Japan. It’s a gorgeous dark red colour once on the nails with two coats, it appears slightly lighter in the bottle but it’s a fab dark red once applied. A really chic colour and goes really well with my standard style of stripy top and black skinny jeans!
When I saw Escentual tweet about bloggers for reviewing this Klorane shampoo for oily hair which contains nettles, I was really up for it. I have oily skin and need to use dry shampoo on my second day hair to give it a refresh, so I thought why not give it a try and see if it can make my hair feel cleaner and last that extra day without too much dry shampoo!
I thought it wasn’t possible, for my love for my new baby, MAC Amplified Creme in Blankety to be stronger than it is already. Then, I decided I needed a new gloss because you can’t wear lipstick everyday can you? Sometimes you need a little sumthin-sumthin without going all out on a lippy you’ll need to retouch, and I can’t cope without a mirror when I have to touch anything up.
So I popped into Marks & Spencer because I’ve heard their lip glosses are lovely and at only £5 you can’t really go wrong. From the Limited Collection I picked up the shade Nude, I was tempted by Raspberry & Apricot but I wanted something to go with Blankety. I love the packaging, I think it’s really pretty and the colour is lovely, a perfect match. It has tiny bits of shimmer in it but doesn’t look like an awful chunky glittery lip gloss I might have worn circa 2005 or something. It’s not sticky in the slightest which is an obvious plus, we don’t want hair sticking to lip gloss nightmares.
I have been a rubbish beauty blogger, I haven’t ever had a MAC lipstick. This is my first ever one and I love it. I’m not a massive lipstick wearer, but I wanted to try and make an effort and wear a more everyday lipstick to try and polish up my look a little bit. I was looking at Freckletone, which is a gorgeous nude but it didn’t stand out on my lips enough as they’re quite pink already. I wanted something with a bit more coverage and pigment and so went for this Amplified Creme beauty in Blankety. I have a post coming up with me wearing this with a cheeky little complimentary gloss!
I’m definitely a closet Nicki Minaj fan. There, I’ve said it. I pretty much love her. She’s hilarious and I do really like her music, especially her early Young Money stuff when she wasn’t all over David Guetta. Anyway, I’m not on the other hand, usually a fan of celeb fragrances, they either all smell the same, I’m looking at you Britney, or are just made because they know it’ll sell ridiculously fast – hi, One Direction.
Another hair post this week! Dry shampoo is one of my staple hair styling products, but this one has disappointed me! I hate to say this because I do like Batiste hair products normally, I’ve bought their normal dry shampoo for years but this one, I think because of the XXLness of this product it makes your hair feel really thick and sticky and horrible! I mean, I’m going to use it up because I’ve bought it but I won’t be buying this one again. I’ll buy the normal dry shampoo again but this one was horrible! It didn’t make my hair feel fresh at all, just sticky and full of residue. Not the idea of a dry shampoo at all! The only nice thing about this is the smell, it does smell lovely.
