The cats eye eyeliner flick is just like my hair style, a staple in my every day life that doesn’t change or alter too massively. I love a bit of continuity and stability within my morning routine! Today’s post is a little battle of the eyeliners, you can see which liquid marker pen eyeliners I like and which one I think is personally the best.
This was nearly the review that wasn’t. I nearly didn’t pick it up the other morning and try it as I’ve been waiting a few weeks for it to arrive due to warehouse issues and moving house and I’d kind of lost interest. They also don’t have the best branding and their website www.sheersense.com & social presence is pretty diabolical. You won’t have heard of them and I’m not sure about the branding and the name, but it’s such a shame because the product is really amazing. This is a truly honest review and I’m going to take you through my experience of using the product from hating it and wondering how on earth I could scrub it off before going to work to absolutely loving it and wishing that I had the whole range to try out.
I don’t often chat hair on my blog. Fashion; yeah, beauty; definitely and lifestyle occasionally. I can probably count the amount of haircare posts I’ve done on one hand, I don’t know why, it’s just not normally my thang. But, I thought, seeing as I’m finally happy with my hair and what I have done to it, I’d share a few products that I rely on to keep my tresses in tip top condition.
So here’s a little round up of my #5DayLipstickChallenge where I challenged myself to wear 5 of my favourite lipsticks in my collection per day. It didn’t happen that I wore one day after day because I had other things on that wouldn’t let me but I completed my challenge! I did this because I’m rubbish with lipstick, I’m lazy and would happily do the rest of my face and leave my lips as they are. Bad beauty blogger. Must try harder. And I did! I really enjoyed wearing them actually and I’m definitely going to try and wear a lippy at least once a week! What do you think of my challenge? Would you do one? Is there a beauty product that you feel that you need to wear more? Let me know.
Today I’m sharing with you two of the new colours from the Zoya Tickled Summer Collection, the most recent additions to my nail varnish collection. I love summer nails, bright colours always make your hands look more tanned and your rings look sparklier! I’ve never used Zoya polishes before these and I’m really impressed with the formula so far, two coats is perfect coverage and they dry quite quickly! They’ve got loads of different colours in their summer collections including sparkly ones!
False eyelashes are something I’m wary of now, they can make you look too done up, fake and like you’ve just walked off the set of TOWIE circa 2011. But, when I heard about Kiss lashes, that are supposed to feel and look like natural lashes, I thought I’d give them a go. These are from the Featherlight collection and I tried out ‘Iconic’ the other night when I went out in Manchester. The ‘Iconic’ versions aren’t very thick and they don’t have a thick band that looks too much next to your actual lash line. I always have to trim my lashes down so I cut nearly a cm off the long ends of them to make them fit. I was really surprised by how soft and comfortable they were, they looked really, really natural and I was able to apply a small amount of mascara to make them blend into my actual eyelashes really easily. Normally, with false lashes mascara doesn’t go on very well and ends up looking clumpy but these were really lovely. So all in all, I was really happy with these lashes and I’d definitely recommend them to anyone who feels like they need something extra but they don’t want to go for the full on celebrity fake eyelashes look. They looked really soft and natural. They’re an American brand and are mostly stocked in Walmarts and that sort of thing but they are available in Boots over here priced at just under £5, which is also a bargain! Kiss Featherlight Lashes – £4.49*
Recently, I’ve decided to create a little challenge for myself. A lipstick challenge of all things. I decided that I don’t wear lipstick enough, I’m definitely lazy with lippy, I’ll put it on once, if I do wear it at all, and then I won’t bother to reapply and it ends up looking a bit rubbish. So I decided I’d try and step out of my comfort zone a little bit and try and wear a nice bright lipstick (or lip product) every day for 5 days. Hence the 5 Day Lipstick Challenge. I’ll be documenting it on Instagram and I’ll do an update next week when it’s over, reviewing the lipsticks and letting you know how I got on!
The Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturiser is a new release this summer and is packed full of SPF 15 protection and long lasting moisture. This lovely product comes in 6 shades, I’ve got the second from palest, 01 Sand but it’s actually quite dark! So in hindsight, 00 Porcelain would have probably been a better fit but this one blends in fine and is perfect for the summer when I’ve got a bit more colour.
ASOS is always the best place to go for a little pick me up order that you need to brighten your day! I’m finding that I’m needing a few little day brighteners at the moment because of uni stresses and the new house. I got all of this for £7 because a few bits were on offer. Two of them are useful, hand wash and dry shampoo (but in funky packaging!) and a new nail varnish always brightens up your little pinkies. I’ve not tried any Models Own polishes before this one and I’m liking it so far. The colour is fab and so summery and the formula is nice and dried quickly. I didn’t apply a top coat though so I had a few chips the next day, but that’s my fault isn’t it! The hand wash smells lovely and I might just keep the bottle once it’s all run out and refill it because the branding of Anatomicals is so funky! What do you do when you need to brighten up your day?
This is my most recent foray into repairing my super soft nails. I really like Essie as a brand, some of my favourite nail varnishes are from them, I especially love Fifth Avenue, it’s the perfect orangey red! Anyway, I picked this up as I’d run out of base coat and this is supposed to really make your nails super strong and stop them peeling and doing all that rubbish that usually happens.
