Choosing the perfect fragrance isn’t easy. It can’t be selected by the size that fits best around your hips or by matching it to your skin tone. It is a meticulous process requiring a substantial amount of both time and wafting! And once you’ve finally committed to a scent, you can only hope that it then commits to you.
I’ve got some brand new additions to my make-up bag, these beautiful Clarins Joli Rouge Lipsticks are their latest drop of beauty goodness. Clarins have had a packaging revamp with these babies and I absolutely love it. I really like metallic packaging, it gives a really luxe and a tiny bit of a festive feel to the product.
I’ve not written up an empties post in a very long time because I didn’t really have many products that I had a lot to say about but I’ve finally got a few empties that I’ve really enjoyed using and would definitely repurchase.
From the makers of the cult favourite Hydraluron comes the Moisture Jelly daily moisturiser and the Facial Powdered Exfoliator. I really liked both of these products, the Moisture Jelly was awesome paired with Hyrdaluron and I really liked the funky press down packaging as it’s really hygienic. The Exfoliator seemed to literally last forever, by the end of it I was wishing it to finish. It’s a powder exfoliator which you mix with a little water to create a foamy lather, I really liked this, my skin felt really clean after using it but the application takes a little bit of getting used to.
After watching Essie Button’s make-up cleanse video this week I thought it was probably time to sort mine collection out. I don’t have absolutely masses of stuff but I’ve definitely got more than my friends obviously due to having a beauty blog! A few things that I use on a daily basis are nearly ran out so I’ve kept those few bits to use up but I did get rid of a few mascaras that were definitely past their use-by date and a few eye-shadows and nail varnishes too. These are probably what I have the most of and now I only have one Muji drawer of nail varnish – I think that’s an achievement in itself.
We all love a good pamper, don’t we? I can personally spend an hour in the bathroom just and making myself feel better after a long day. That’s why I thought I’d write a post on what I consider to be the ultimate bathroom pamper routine!
Pedicure
There’s no better place to sort your nails than the privacy of your bathroom. I mean, it’s a bit gross let’s face it. You don’t want members of your household to find your old toenails floating around. I make sure I do them before I get in the bath, as water softens them and can leave you with breakages. Make sure you don’t clip too much as you can become quite sore. Also, cut straight across to avoid ingrown toenails!
Clarins have got two beautiful new shades coming to their amazing Rouge Eclat lipstick range. They’re 21 Tawny Rose, a lovely brown/nude/pink and 22 Red Paprika, a dark orangey-red. These lipsticks are Clarins’ first age-defying formula which means they’re so moisturising and have really long-lasting colour. They have The Nutri-Youth Complex which boosts collagen and also has Vitamin E! They’re pretty great all round, check out the super-pretty new shades.
KIKO Cosmetics is brand I’ve been aware of for so long but I’ve never taken the plunge to buy anything from their website because a) you never can be sure of colours/textures etc online and b) their minimum order amount was about £25 which I thought was a bit crazy. BUT then, last month they opened a store in Nottingham’s Victoria Centre and I knew I had to check it out. I picked up a few products that have been on my radar for a while, so here’s my two cents on KIKO as a brand! Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and what you think too.
When the email popped into my inbox, I might as well have been poised with my IKEA kitchen scissors over my fringe I was that desperate for a haircut! It was pretty awful, I don’t think I realised quite how bad it was until I saw my side by side before and after shots! That fringe though. It was over-grown and dull after years of home-colouring and being lazy about haircuts. KH Hair, previously Keith Hall, saved my little hair’s life. I didn’t go for a drastic change, after my consultation with the lovely Ruth I settled on a subtle ombre fade with a serious trim. I think I had about an inch and a half off and I seriously needed it.
My love for Clarins is going to be an everlasting affair! I’ve got four new products from their new summer Aquatic Treasures make-up collection to share with you today and they are just amazing. Not only because of the gorgeous packaging, (I mean will you look at that bronzer?), but also because they’re pretty darn awesome at doing what they’re supposed to do! This collection is available in May, so get saving those pennies because you’re going to want all of these.

I can across these guys on Instagram and was intrigued so I popped them a message asking if they worked with bloggers because I needed to try their clever concept out for myself. What The Library of Fragrance do is they split up all your favourite scents into individual notes and sell them separately. Then, you can either wear one scent on it’s own or layer up different ones for a totally unique and individual perfume. Smart, huh?
