Organic Overnight Chocolate Protein Oats

I’ve been a regular protein powder user for about 3 years now since getting into fitness in a more serious way and having the protein expertise of my other half to learn from. I’ve tried a lot of different brands and I now know some of my favourites and what flavours I like. But, it did occur to me, whilst on my 8 week clean eating challenge, that my protein powder may not actually be as clean as the rest of my diet. That’s when I discovered Whey Ahead, this organic protein powder! This stuff isn’t as sweet as your standard protein powder and is the UK’s first range of certified organic flavoured & unflavoured protein. Powered purely by organic protein from grass-fed cows and raw superfoods, this stuff’s pretty good. Read More

4 Ways To Make Fitness More Fun

Fitness is one of my passions, but I recognise that it’s not as fun for everyone else. Some people struggle to enjoy themselves, no matter what they do. If you feel like you’ve never liked any kind of exercise, it’s never too late to try again. Many people who hate sports at school find a new enthusiasm for keeping fit as adults. I didn’t particularly enjoy school sports myself. There are lots of excellent things you can do to get fit that aren’t utterly soul-sucking. Making fitness fun might not be as difficult as you think it is. You can even convince yourself that you’re not really exercising! Here are my top things to do to make fitness fun. Read More

Sugar-Free Chocolate Granola

This looks too good to be sugar-free? WRONG. It totally is and I’m going to tell you how to make it in all its chocolatey glory.

I’m a complete and utter cereal addict, I love the stuff. I could eat box after box of Coco Pops, Ricicles, you name it, I love it. I’m also a big granola lover but since discovering quite how much sugar was in the cereal I love, I decided to make my own sugar-free version. I’m trying to cut refined sugar out of my day to day diet and keep it for treats as I find my skin really suffers if I eat too much of it. If you suffer from adult acne, hidden sugar just might be the cause as it was for me. Read More

The 5:2 Diet: How To Survive Your Fast Days

Fancy living on 500 calories a day? Nope, me neither but I’ve seen a tonne of articles recently claiming to help people on the 5:2 diet get on well with their fasting days where they only eat 500 calories. Some of these articles are saying that you should start your day with 40g of porridge oats or some Belvita Breakfast biscuits and it’s just not sustainable, nor is it going to keep the person full. They’re also saying to blow at least half of the calories in the first meal of the day. Some of these meal plans don’t even have a lunch included but, I don’t know about you, I wouldn’t be able to last from breakfast until dinner on some sugary breakfast biscuits. Read More

My Favourite Lunches & Snacks This Week #CleanEatingChallenge

Last week, I finished my first full week of clean eating as part of the Clean Eating Challenge that my Crossfit Box runs and I thought I’d share some of my favourite lunches and snacks that I’ve had recently. Hopefully if you’re trying to eat a little bit healthier this will show you that you don’t have to eat really small portions. I’ve also recently got Invisalign so my meals are slightly bigger as I’m only eating 4 times a day as opposed to have three meals and two snacks or six smaller meals a day. Read More
