Blossoming Gifts is a great place to get cheap flowers that are still in beautiful bouquets and perfect for presents! They kindly send me the Autumn Haze bouquet to review as a ‘welcome to autumn’ gift. It’s really nice now the leaves are crunchy and it’s not too chilly but tights are a welcome wardrobe addition. I really like autumn, summer isn’t my favourite because I always get too hot and the winter is just too cold!
This is a really interesting and helpful guest post from Chill Insurance – helping you manage your money and still get the house of your dreams! As a young person who will undoubtedly be getting on the property ladder in a few years, I think it’s really important to know these things.
How much can you really afford to spend on your dream home?
The home plays an integral role in our lives – it’s no surprise that we all want to create the perfect place to grow and be happy with our families.
Unfortunately, every property needs a little upgrade from time to time. Sometimes this can include huge restoration projects. Alternatively, you might just want to give your home a little facelift. Either way, these tips could be a huge help. Make these changes now, and you’ll soon notice a huge improvement around the home.
With H&M’s current 20% off (student discount, yeah!) currently on I popped in for a browse at lunchtime the other day and had to venture into the home section. I picked up three of these little black metal baskets to store skincare and shower products in my under the sink bathroom cupboard. Now this isn’t a cupboard that anyone sees into apart from us but I just thought it would be nice for it to be a bit more organised. Plus, they look really cute AND it’s going to be so much easier to just pull these out to clean the cupboard instead of every single product. How old do I sound?
Spring time is all about lighter colours, new textures and cute animal faces apparently! I’ve scoured some of the best high street home ware retailers for some fresh new soft furnishings. I’m loving the Baines & Fricker pastel cushion covers, they remind me of the tea-towels you used to draw your face on in primary school, really cute. I also really love the shiny texture of the metallic cushions next to some super fluffy fuzz from the Yorkshire Linen Co, they make a really cool contrast. What do you think of my spring cushion wish list? Check out the rest with the links below! How cute is the French Bulldog?
I’ve been filling up my Interior Design & Decor board on Pinterest with a load of new inspiration for a new summery update for the house. I love contemporary furniture with a little mix of retro. I had a bit of a shelf re-jig a few month back and loved the yellow of the daffodils next to the green lamp. We have a few yellow accents around our living room and bedroom already so I thought I’d do some Pinterest stalking and find some more yellow inspiration. Check out the Assi Walnut Coffee Table in the middle from Danetti, how great would that look with a funky lamp and a plant on it?
Here’s a little interiors update with my first shelf styling attempt in our living room! Our house is a mix of modern with some mid-century touches and a mix of monochrome with colour added in – plus it’s a mix of both me and Luke so the finished product is something that looks a little bit like this. I love shelf styling, I think it’s so clever – I’ve been poring over Pinterest for a few weeks now and finally decided to give it a little go.
Over the past 8 weeks, Luke and his dad have been working hard every weekend on our garden to get it ready for the summer. Those of you that follow the blog might know that this our second house in a year but that’s a long story best saved!
As the weather starts to pick up, I thought it’d be nice to share some of the work we’ve done and also share some of our garden inspo and the things we really want for it!
Following on my last post about Brixton, I picked these up after our amazing brunch at Wild Caper from a little shop in the market. I saw them in the window and just had to pick them up for our house. We’re both really into tattoos and the flat, traditional style so these prints really jumped out at me. I’ve put them in our bedroom – our frame wall is really taking shape now. If you love these as much as we do, you can grab them from East End Prints online. Check out Tat Girl & Russian Tat Man!
Finally, we have a bedroom that’s actually relaxing, comfortable and just downright nice to be in. Recently we’ve tackled painting the walls – three white and 1 elephant grey as seen on my Insta – and getting ourselves some curtains and a new wooden Venetian blind. Our bedroom is really coming together and I thought I’d share a few of my favourite bits! First up our bed sheets are all about the geometric, the monochrome and the yellow which is our main accent colour. I picked the fluffy cushions up in Primark for only £4 each and they are SO soft it’s unreal. The rest of the cushions are IKEA and the sheets are George at Asda.
