Finally, we have a bedroom that’s actually relaxing, comfortable and just downright nice to be in. Recently we’ve tackled painting the walls – three white and 1 elephant grey as seen on my Insta – and getting ourselves some curtains and a new wooden Venetian blind. Our bedroom is really coming together and I thought I’d share a few of my favourite bits! First up our bed sheets are all about the geometric, the monochrome and the yellow which is our main accent colour. I picked the fluffy cushions up in Primark for only £4 each and they are SO soft it’s unreal. The rest of the cushions are IKEA and the sheets are George at Asda.
This week is Farmhouse Breakfast Week as being run by Cuckoo Foods, this week is all about being creative with your breakfasts! Cuckoo are running a really cool Bircher Muesli competition where they’re challenging bloggers to create their own but sadly my muesli bits went AWOL in the post so I’m going to share their amazing-tasting little yoghurt and muesli pots with you guys instead! First up, I absolutely love the branding of these products – the Modern Muesli is a really cool tagline and I really like the packaging, their website is really cool too!
Now I’m not claiming to be a pro blogger but I’ve grown my little corner of the internet quite substantially in my eyes within the last year or so! I love my blog, it’s the best hobby I’ve ever had and I’ve not really had many of those! I’d don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have my blog, it forces me to be creative, work hard and strive for something. I wouldn’t have been offered my job without it, I really believe that. I’ve put together some of my top tips for blogging if you’re just starting out.
Finding the perfect gift can be difficult no matter the size of your budget and the pressure making someone smile on Christmas day can be really stressful! Regardless of the price bracket though, with a bit of crafty thought you can definitely find something that’s going to make them happy underneath the tree! Here’s a few last minute tips to grab some beauty goodies for your nearest and dearest (or just for you, who’s telling?!). Save Over-powering cheap perfumes from discount department stores are now becoming a thing of the past, as cheaper, quality beauty products are making their mark on the high street; with Superdrug selling MUA lipsticks from just £1! There’s also great stores like TJ Hughes and TKMaxx where you can find big brands for loads less. I’ve found bargains from brands such as Stila, Urban Decay and Nails Inc in these stores in the past, they make great stocking fillers. Spend Some mid-priced brands run deals throughout the year, and the holiday season is no exception. Keep your eye out for vouchers when you buy a number of products from one brand as this could lead to you getting a lot more for your money in the future. Boots Star Gift of the Week is also a great way to grab a bargain, their Soap & Glory gift goes crazy every year and is always great value for money. The gift on offer at the moment is the Jack Wills Weekend Essentials for only £33.00! Splurge If you have a little extra cash to spend and you prefer to make shopping for beauty products a special treat, pay a visit to the professional make-up artists in the high end department stores, they can help you pick gorgeous treats for your own wish list and recommend some products for other people too!
I’m the first to admit that I’m probably a little addicted to my phone, Instagram, my blog, online shopping, etc! To be fair, I’m online for the majority of my day working in social media and as a blogger too, this normally works it’s way into my evenings so it’s just a part of my every day existence.
200 Degrees is the newest coffee house to hit Nottingham and it’s the reason I’ll never be going to Starbucks or Costa ever again! You just have to walk past it to realise that it’s not your average coffee shop or cafe, it’s a totally new entity full of amazing homemade food, the best coffee in town and truly friendly staff. They also have a Barista School, they roast their own coffee and have been supplying other coffee shops in Nottingham for a while before they started their own coffee shop. Check them out on Instagram too for some serious caffeine-induced eye candy. Also, definitely try the ham, leek & chilli jam panini, it’s insanely good. Leeks in a sandwich? Trust me.
There’s nothing better than eating absolute rubbish in front of the telly when it’s chilly outside and I’m A Celebrity and X Factor are gracing our screens! I know, I know, I’m probably poisoning my brain as well as my body but every once in a while, who cares? Especially when it’s super easy with the JUST EAT app, you don’t even need to ring up the takeaway anymore, you can browse all the ones in your local area on your iPad and just clickety click which one you like. Luke and I had this cheeky Chinese takeaway the other night courtesy of JUST EAT and it was very, very welcome. And not just because we were running out of Tupperware and now we’ve got 4 more boxes! Also, check out our super cute Christmas tree in the background!
Unless you’ve been living under a fashion-related rock you would have noticed the huge surge in trainers becoming a staple part of street style wear for both girls and guys. You can’t turn a corner in a city centre without seeing a pair of New Balance! It amazes me how some trends really take off and I love watching them spread, it’s crazy! I mean, a year ago would we all have been wearing Adidas Originals Stan Smiths or Nike Air Max Thea or slip on Vans? Probs not, just saying. I’m obsessed with this trend, I’ve always been a bit of a trainer head anyway because I just love the comfort – it’s something that just can’t be beaten. But now I can totally embrace my love of all things sneakers because it’s totally on trend. Bonus.
Online shopping is something that we all enjoy and I’ll hold my hands up to maybe being a little bit addicted! But, when you have a bad experience with a brand online, you don’t ever want to shop there again.
This is what happened with Superdrug. I’m going to name names because I don’t want anyone else to have a bad experience with them either, you might as well just shop online at another high street chemist like Boots or Lookfantastic and have a good, reliable experience.
