We all know that blogging requires you to spend quite a lot of time in front of your laptop and doing various tasks such as answering emails, writing posts, editing photos and never ending tweeting! Blogging requires some essential pieces of kit, laptop, obviously, camera, obviously and I like to have countless notepads, coloured pens and organisers dotting about. I also can’t sit down without a cup of tea perched next to me on the desk in my favourite mug.
I’ve always wanted one of these personalised photo phone cases, I’m probably really late to the party here but I think they’re really cute and individual. It’s nice to look down at your phone and see some photos that make you smile! This case from Mr Nutcase (jokes name, I know) is my first foray into the personalised iPhone cases.
This weekend was my baby twin sisters’ birthday. But, they’re not so baby anymore! They’re 9 and I can’t believe it, nearly double figures. They had separate birthday parties because they’re like chalk and cheese. One being pastel coloured hair chalk and the other being a big bit of Stilton. I’m not even joking, my 9 year old sister is obsessed with stinky cheese and the other one loves all things fashion, hair and beauty! E had a Build-A-Bear Party the weekend before and Little G had a crafty party at a local craft centre at home in Chippenham, called Krafty Monkey! They specialise in decoupage which is essentially sticking different coloured and patterned bits of paper and decorating things, it’s amazing. It’s really fun and therapeutic and G loves it! Anyway, there was an empty seat because one of her friends couldn’t come in the end so me and Luke decided we could jump in a make some new ornaments for our new house! So this happened! I went for a gingham, spotty and stripy affair in red, yellow and black and Luke went for a cheeky camo number! They end up really shiny and smooth with the layer of PVA that y0u put over them!
Luke and I love a vintage and retro find so we popped along to Southwell Antique & Vintage fair on Sunday to see if we could find any bargains for our new house. We actually found a bargain 70s two-tier coffee table for £14 which was great but I’m keeping that for another post, surprises, surprises. Anyway, here’s a little photo diary of the day, we saw some lovely bits. We also went to a car boot sale the day after and it’s so funny to see the difference in what people take in terms of goods to sell but you can also find some similar bits so it’s useful to go along and grab a bargain or two.
The thing about me is, I love food and I quite like cooking but I’m a lazy cook and if it’s just for me, like it has been for pretty much 3 years of my university life, I’ll cook something big like chilli or lasagne and make it last 3 days or do something simple such as spicy chicken with some pasta and veg. So, there you have it, my cooking repertoire.
Tidying up is never anyone’s favourite thing to do. Unless you’re off Obsessive Compulsive Cleaners. Now, I love that programme and it does always make me want to clean everything in sight but I wouldn’t say I’m that crazy about my cleaning. I like things to be clean and tidy of course but if I forget to hoover it’s not going to bring me out in a rash.
Lacock is one of my most favourite places ever, it’s situated a 10 minute drive away from my parent’s house and it’s so pretty that it’s been used for films such as Harry Potter and Pride & Prejudice! We went for an hour’s walk around it the other day whilst I was at home and had some tea and a little sit down. Here’s a photo diary of the visit!
Great interview with an up & coming Brit actor ready to hit the big time. Read it so you can say you knew about him before he was famous.
As you guys may or may not know I’m Fashion & Beauty for Uni2Know mag, a student magazine based in Nottingham. Recently we had a photo shoot to do for the newest issue and I was in desperate need of some models! It’s difficult to find male models around uni because people aren’t normally keen to offer themselves up for it! My solution came from having Sunday lunch with my Uncle & Auntie, Alex & Alan who happen to be the directors of Fresh Logistics, a ‘temperature controlled courier and storage company’ which is based just down the road from us in Long Eaton. Fresh logistics work mainly for the food and pharmaceutical sectors and provide specialist bespoke services to the frozen, chilled or ambient market. They’ve also just won an award last week for Operations SME at the SHD awards which is wicked! They did me a huge favour by asking a few of their lads that work for them to help us out! Here are a few of the shots from the day, shot by Neil Kates of Keeping It Neil Photography.
I haven’t done a lifestyle post for ages but I had a really lovely Sunday last weekend. Mr Friday & I had Sunday lunch at The Rose Cottage in Rufford, Nottinghamshire. Just over the road from Rufford Park in which we had a super cute little walk round the chilly grounds. Now, down to the important bit, I’m picky about my Sunday dinners because my daddy makes the, absolute ridiculously incredible roast dinners. They are literally the best, no question.
