Valentine’s Day can be a really exciting time for couples. Nobody seems to think of the singletons getting left out on the day of love. But, if you’re single and you want to distract yourself, here’s 7 things you can do!
Wine & Dine a Friend
Why not grab another single friend and wine and dine them? Agree to split the bill but go out and have fun. There’s no point moping around feeling sorry for yourself when you could be out there having fun!
Swap Gifts
Valentine’s Day is usually romanticised, but why not make it about other people you love too? You could swap nice presents with a friend or family member. You don’t have to buy them anything too big. Just a little something to show them you appreciate them!
Eat Whatever You Want
Having a take away every once a while is fine. Treat yourself to a take away and don’t feel guilty at all! You probably won’t want to go to a restaurant full of couples alone, so stay home, relax, and eat a huge pizza to yourself.
Go Trampolining
Grab a friend or two and go to a trampoline park. You’ll get plenty of exercise and have fun while you’re at it. You’ll have so much fun, you won’t care what the couples are up to!
Have A Film Marathon
Stay home in your pyjamas and have a film marathon all day long. You could use Netflix, rent some films online, or grab a stack of DVDs. Watch your favourite movie series. Maybe have a cry at a romantic film. Eating lots of junk while you do!
Have A House Party
If you have other single friends, have a bit of a house party. Invite them over, and make something to eat. Sink a few cocktails, laugh about your ex-boyfriends. Whatever you do, do not feel sorry for yourselves!
Make ‘The’ Group Chat Full of Exes
A man recently did this to all his ex girlfriends at Christmas time, and he ended up going out on a date with one of them again. The others were quite annoyed, but it entertained the nation! If you’re brave, you could do this and see if you can bag a date (as long as you know, they’re not psychos or anything).
So there you have it; all hope isn’t lost! There are lots of things you can do if you’re spending Valentine’s day single, so don’t fret. Have fun and start appreciating being by yourself. Don’t settle for someone just to get a Michael Kors watch or Pandora charm.
