I’m focusing on Covent Garden today because I think it’s the prettiest bit of London! I really liked sitting outside and having a glass of wine just people watching when I headed there earlier in the month, it was just really relaxing.

Incase you missed it – I went to London a few weekends ago for a quick city break and thought I’d share some of my favourite places and some recommendations for anyone who might be planning to head to London but aren’t sure what to do apart from the usual sight-seeing and shopping. I wasn’t the most au fait with London before this trip, I’d been a couple of times but would never say that I ‘know’ the city so it was fun to explore.
We’re off to London soon to celebrate our two-year anniversary. We’ve got tickets for Charlie & The Chocolate Factory and are dying to eat at some of our most-liked places on Instagram. Top Dog Soho – we’re coming for you.
Here are a few essentials I’ll definitely be taking with me on our two-night stay. I like to pack ‘capsule wardrobe’ style pieces when I travel so I’ll be living in black skinny jeans and my dungarees. I can’t find mine to link to but these Dr Denim Skinny Dungarees available at ASOS are super similar. I’ll be pairing both of these staples with stripes and simple tees such as my new favourite Topshop Contrast Neck Stripe Top and Marks & Spencer Limited Edition Grey Tee.
I’m not really your standard 20-something ‘traveller’ where I’ve either been to or want to go to the majority or Asia and Australia or spent my summers on a night-train in Europe. I’m more of a beach holiday type of girl with the occasional city-break thrown in. A see a little every so often type of traveller. I love to travel and see new things, especially in Britain! There are plenty of places you can spend a week exploring and still not see everything. When I’m travelling, I love to find new things off the beaten track. Here’s a list of must-see sights in the North West!
For me, the North West is a great region to visit. One of my favourite cities in the world is Liverpool. It really is an awesome place when it comes to the history and culture of England. As the hometown of the Beatles, music is important here. The nightclubs are pretty cutting edge too in leading the way for music.
My second holiday this summer consisted of a little break to the Algarve. We came here last year and loved Alvor so decided to go back over Luke’s birthday week. We also travelled to Tavira, another cute town the other side of Faro for a few days.
Tavira was hosting a Mediterranean Diet festival over the few days we were there which was full of street food and craft stalls and it was really exciting. I’d definitely recommend to check whether there’s any festivals or events happening over the time you plan to go to Portugal as there definitely wouldn’t have been as much to do if this wasn’t here. It made it even more exciting. Obviously there’s a million amazing cake shops, ice cream and restaurants to fill your boots with too. Plus, the beach Ihle de Tavira is a short ferry trip away and costs only €1.90 return.
Now we all love a beach getaway, I know I do! But sometimes there just isn’t the time or the money to be jetting overseas to a nice sandy beach. According to greatbritishbingo.co.uk and their recent survey, the UK’s top 3 beaches are Blackpool coming in first, with Brighton in close succession and Bournemouth in third. There were a whole load of other beaches in this survey of course but these three came out top!
I’ve just come back from an amazing week’s break in Greece. We stayed in Kassiopi, Corfu which is near the top of the island. Here’s a few things that I’d massively recommend doing whilst you’re there or in the surrounding areas.
1. Eat at The Three Brothers / Old School Taverna
This is THE best restaurant in Kassiopi for sure! Look at that prawn linguine, it was amazing. Also, a large glass of wine here works out at around £1.70 a glass, pretty good if you ask me. Another really nice place to eat is Tavernaki – their baked feta is the one.
