Life has been all over the place recently with getting back into the swing of work after holiday, trying to get my head around planning a wedding and both working really hard, we needed a day date. 3 eco-friendly cleaning hacks

You guys will know I’m trying super hard to shop less, be sustainable with my style, make eco-friendly changes around the home and generally try and be kinder to the environment and I think I’m doing my bit.

  • Rarely buy single use plastic bottles or lunch-related items (I’m down to about 1-2 a month when I forget a.k.a drop my lunch or don’t have anything to hand if I’m travelling around)
  • Always take my ‘Swell’ metal reusable bottle out and about and to work
  • Try to use my reusable coffee cup when I can, I even have a spare one in my desk at work for whenever the caffeine craving strikes
  • Buying a lot more second hand clothes and generally not shopping that much at all. I actually have guilt when I go into shops and really spend so much less on new clothes and accessories than I ever have before!
  • Use brown paper packaging or reuse packaging from previous deliveries for eBay and Depop sales.
  • Use silicone baking sheets instead of foil to produce less waste
  • Recycle as much as physically poss in our area!

I still have so many things that I want to change and adapt too and the next thing on my list is eco-friendly cleaning products. The guys over at Pattersons have sponsored this post and provided a really cool list of three eco friendly cleaning hacks below. I mean, it’s not spring but there’s not a seasonal limit on changing up your eco friendly habits, right? Read More

Burra Khana Nottingham Review

Burra Khana is located in the Hockley area of Notts and is where Red Dog Saloon still is. The owners have split the building in two, which I understand as the space is really big but the two restaurants are essentially in the same place which makes the whole thing a bit weird to be honest. There were people behind us eating tacos and BBQ food whilst we were eating a curry and at the end of the meal we were offered the dessert menu ‘from the other place’ which was super strange. 186 hours in Dubrovnik

What can I say about Dubrovnik? It is gorgeous and it will always have a place in my heart of course, because we got engaged there but overall it is such a romantic city and there’s so much to see and do. Here are my top five things to do in Dubrovnik, Croatia. We stayed for a week because it was part summer holiday and part city break for us as we hadn’t had a ‘holiday’ for about 18 months due to buying our house but I would say that you could easily see everything Dubrovnik has to offer in around 3 to 4 days if you packed it all in! Dubrovnik Food Diary

It’s definitely going to be true to say that we ate well during our trip to Dubrovnik. I wanted to share some of our favourites with you from easy lunches to incredible sushi and some harbour-side restaurants. There’s places to eat and drink across the whole price range but overall, Dubrovnik is quite an expensive city to eat out in. We had plenty of cost-effective lunches and snacks as we loved the evening vibe and wanted to spend more on our meals out for most of the evenings. Let’s get into it! Read More

4 Ways You Can Get Organised At Work

One of the hardest things about work is often being organised. It’s a skill that almost everyone claims that they have on their resume when they’re applying for jobs, but once you’re sitting behind that desk and trying to figure out everything that you have to do that day, those organisational skills that you cultivated in high school by colour coding your notes and adding post-its to the most important pages of your text books feel like a million miles away. If that sounds familiar, here are some tips on the best ways you can get it together at work. Read More

Where to Eat in Nottingham: Penny Lane

If you love sweet potato fries and air hockey, have I got the venue for you.

We checked out Penny Lane when it first opened and loved the games and cocktails but I haven’t had a chance to try the food properly and finally we did. A tasty little lunch was just what the doctor ordered for a chilled weekend (and it was the day before we got on the holiday prep so we went all out!). I’ll get straight into the delicious food because I was really impressed and would definitely go for lunch again. I’ve actually already booked our work Christmas party for here for December because I loved the games and cocktails so much I took a chance on the food and I’m glad that I have now. Read More
