Another money diary for you all and this on spans payday and Bank Holiday weekend! Let’s get straight into it. If you want more Money Diary fun and to read my others, click here.
Wednesday.
It’s the day before payday and our tyre decides to have a slow puncture so £7.50 for my share of the fix. At least it’s not a whole new tyre so it’s definitely not the end of the world.
Grab some ‘tea club’ milk before heading to work from Waitrose, I know, we’re cute and share milk. Pick up some little Marmite cheeses because a) I love Marmite b) I love cheese and c) I know Luke won’t eat them because he doesn’t like Marmite – £2.01 and get my free coffee from the machine in my fancy new reusable cup. Even though I’m pretty pissed off I had to buy another reusable cup because the one I had started leaking. This is not how sustainability works people!
Have a super fun day at work filming with one of the sports teams that we sponsor for some social media videos, manage to run out on a break and grab my free Nero coffee on O2 – £0.50 for syrup!
Buy some All Saints jeans on eBay for £6 – spoiler alert, I pick them up on Saturday morning and they’re 100% a let down, the photos were rubbish and they definitely weren’t the size that they said they were. Gutted!
Thursday
Pay day! Yas.
£5.00 in the ridiculous shop that is One Below. If you live in Nottingham and love a pound shop you’ve never seen the wonders that is One Below. The only place I can get the Vaseline Cocoa Butter moisturiser that I love for £1 when it’s at least £2.50-£3 in Superdrug and Boots etc. Also buy more pegs (glam) and two packets of Matchmakers, some chocolate buttons for my little brother and a face mask for my sister.
£2.20 in Wilko (glam again) for a smelly plug-in thing and toothpaste. Also grab some Olly’s Olives from Sainsbury’s on my lunch break, a little Shopmium find – these are try one pack for free and I buy two so £1.50 for them both because I’ll get £1.50 for one of them refunded. I find food safety in things like Marmite and olives because otherwise I know snacks will end up in his belly.
Friday
Post my baby sister a well done present for her GCSE results (includes treats from One Below yesterday so the others don’t feel left out, obv) – £3.00
Wander into John Lewis and find a sale linen t-shirt bargain for £12 which fills my yellow craving for the moment.
Saturday
Super hot day and venture over to Bradgate Park in Leicestershire to see some friends. Supplies for the day: parking £2 each, beers £3 each, ice cream £3 each. Decide to try the new spicy nuggets from McDs on the way home £5ish for my share. Can confirm, they’re not amazing. Would definitely be nicer with the sour cream dip you get with Selects!
Chilling on the sofa watching OJ Simpson VS The People – spend £25 on a Molton Brown shower gel set for Luke’s birthday – these are his favourites and I treat him for his birthday or Christmas most years. Don’t worry this isn’t a spoiler purely because he knows what I’m buying him and he doesn’t really read my blog!
Sunday
Wake up and realise we actually don’t have anything we need to do which is super fun so decide to have a treat day and book the funky 4DX cinema in Sheffield. We’ve wanted to try this for ages, it’s the cinema with moving seats, wind, smells etc – it was amazing. I have a £5 trade up for the cinema in our bills account and with a bit extra (this normally means a free ticket but it’s subsidised because it’s a fancy screen) one ticket is £4.70. We also pay £11.65 for another ticket on my discounted work perks thing for the cinema so all in all it’s about £16 for us both for the 4DX which is awesome.
We decide to do some shopping and have some lunch before our film. Two iced coffees at Caffe Nero in Meadowhall – £3.00 for both as I have a fully stamped card on my app – winner! Pop to Primark and drop £60 on Autumn Winter goodness – I am so ready for sweater weather. I’d listed around 20 pieces on eBay the previous weekend so these sales were coming in tonight. But already know I have £7 to come back because I’ve bought jeans for a second time that I know don’t fit, somehow forgot AGAIN. Buy a cute top from Vans for £18 too, because – yellow.
eBay sales start rolling in, I pay my eBay fees and the postage via their service before I move my ‘earnings’ into my bank so I make around £80. I’ve sold a bunch of boots, Topshop stuff and a designer bag so pretty pleased with this. Trying to only shop if I’m getting rid of things!
Monday
Wilkos for a very glamorous broom, two broom heads and some new shoe laces. Washed a load of my trainers instead of just buying new ones because they were grubby and they’ve actually come up really well! £15.95 split between us. Too hot to do anything so we watch Hunger Games and Peaky Blinders and eat ice creams.
Total
Incoming eBay & refunds: £80 sales + £7 Primark refund + £6 eBay refund + £1.50 Shopmium
Spent: £160.19
Quite a big spendy week here because of our Meadowhall treat day but counteracted with eBay sales so only about £80 spent overall – what I’m telling myself! How was your Bank Holiday week?
Use my Shopmium referral code si9z9 for free Nutella! I’ve had £107 in cash back back so far on this app, love it.
