For my last post of 2017 I wanted to tell you all about a super sweet event that the lovely Jess arranged as part of her BumbleBFF Queen Bee appointment! She is definitely the perfect Queen Bee for the blogger babes of Notts and she’s doing a fab job. Let’s get down to the last festive post of this year, a Christmas themed afternoon tea at the Pudding Pantry in Nottingham.
“Sweatpants are all that fits me right now.”
Disclaimer, before we get into this post. This is 100% a post that is only, and I mean it, only about a new sassy pair of sweatpants and a trip to Nando’s. So, if it’s a thought provoking, clickable, readable post that you’re after and you don’t want to hear about the new Nando’s pitta, leave now. I am chilling the hell out over Christmas and popping out the odd cute little post about what I’m up to and that’s about it. Of course I’m thinking about posts for the new year but I definitely don’t want to use all of my *incredible* ideas before January hits so, here’s a super simple insight into my life recently. It’s New Year’s Eve tomorrow and the last thing we all need is stress and opinions so, here’s a blog post about chicken and elasticated waistbands.
Super Christmas chills and festive activities
Christmas break has been really fun this year, it’s been packed full of cute activities and all the festive feels. Daytime beers, Christmas tree festivals, the panto, snacks all the time, seeing my favourite people for brunch and apparently only wearing monochrome outfits with statement cross body bags.
My Sunday haircare routine
Sorry, I can’t. I’m washing my hair.
Does anyone actually ever use that hilarious excuse? Maybe, I don’t know but I might start. I usually wash my hair every two days and then liberally spray my entire head in dry shampoo every other day. I used to wash my hair every day before dry shampoo was a thing and I am so glad we have all moved with the times because I just couldn’t be bothered to wash it every day these days. Sleep is definitely more of a necessity! My Sunday routine often consists of face masks and hair washing (post bathroom cleaning – obviously!).
5 locations on my travel bucket list
2. Copenhagen
As much as I’ve heard that it’s super expensive it doesn’t put me off that much! I just want to see those beautiful coloured houses, look at them! I also love Scandinavian style and their way of life so I really want to try it out for myself. I basically just want to go here for all the Insta-pics because, let’s face it, it’s going to be amazing.
3. Sri Lanka
Everything else on this list is a city break, really, but sometimes you really need a hot, exotic get away, right? Definitely. I said it last year but I loved our Greek break to Crete this summer but I definitely felt like I needed to see more than Europe for my next break. Check out my 3 out of the box things to do in Crete for some cute things to do though, it’s a beautiful island and I had a fantastic time. It was basically an extreme sports holiday and I’m totally fine with that. Anyway, back to Sri Lanka – the actual point of this section. Sri Lanka just looks like something completely out of this world, it has undiscovered parts, ancient temples, National Parks and just incredible sights to see. There’s also a rock fortress to climb at Sigirya which apparently has incredible views and we all know how much I love a good hike.
4. Lisbon
We’ve been to the Algarve in Portugal a fair few times because it’s reliable weather and gorgeous food but we want to see something different in Portugal and 2017 seemed to be the year of Lisbon! I saw loads of my favourite bloggers head here in the summer and it just looks so beautiful. I also really need to get my hands on those little custard tarts because they look ridiculously delicious.
5. Budapest
I absolutely fell in love with the idea of Budapest purely from this blog post by Kristabel, her photography is amazing and the tourist board need to sponsor that girl ASAP because her post is so informative, so beautiful and now I really need to go to Budapest super soon. Where’s on your travel bucket list? Is there anywhere that you absolutely must go this year?
Enjoying #Fishmasdinner with Loch Fyne
Loch Fyne’s latest campaign is all about Fish-tivities and trying something a little different this Christmas for your festive celebrations. Obviously turkey dinners are super traditional and delicious but, during December, I’m sure we all get a little bit *done* with them when they make an appearance almost every week during the run up to the big day!
Festive afternoon tea
I’ve wrapped my presents, bought my Secret Santa, got the tree up and we’ve been listening to Heart Extra Xmas in the car since probably about 8am on the 1st December so I’m definitely feeling festive. A lot of mince pies have been eaten and it’s actually started to snow so Christmas is creeping up on us quite quickly!
6 magical minimal watches
Since having my Apple watch I’ve obviously found myself wearing my actual watches less and less but I do tend to wear them on the weekends and if I’m going out. I’ve actually come to really like this because I appreciate them and enjoy wearing my ‘jewellery’ watches more because it’s more special. I absolutely love minimal watches and they’re still such a trend! They’re just simple and pretty and go with almost any outfit. Here are 6 of my favourite picks that are perfect for pressies from F.Hinds.
