Growing up is hard for many reasons. One day you’re young and carefree, the next you could swear blind you’re getting wrinkles! It happens sooner than most of us would like. But, the good news is that growing older isn’t all doom and gloom. Instead of focusing on the negative implications of lost youth, we’re going to look at the positive factors of the years passing by!
It’s cold, Storm Barbara is raging on and you might not have even finished your Christmas shopping yet. And, I know exhaustion has set in from seeing every friend and family member you’ve ever known within the space of two weeks! Work is finally over though but this means a million invites for festive get-togethers. Sometimes, you just need to pop a pizza in the oven and watch Elf. That’s exactly my plan for tonight. I love a city break, if you follow my blogging or Instagram adventures, you’ll know this! I also like to think I’ve got *some* London knowledge and I’m not a typical tourist but there are still so many places that I haven’t experienced. So, when Mercure Hotels challenged me with a City Swap with the lovely Milly from Mini Adventures, I jumped at the chance to see what a real Londoner would recommend to me to do.
I’ve always thought that mismatched, crazy Christmas trees have so much more personality that perfect decorated, stuck to a colour theme trees. This post is short and sweet today but I just had to share the cutest Harrods Christmas decorations that I’ve added to my tree this year. I mean, how cute is Hugh the bear in ornament form? I’m also 100% obsessed with the sparkly tartan beauty and the purple, ivory and gold tear drop shaped bauble.

Pressies For Mums
If you’re mum is a beauty and skincare junkie then she’s probably pretty easy to buy for and Christmas can be a great time to really treat her! I may or may not have already picked up the beautiful Clarins Festive Eyeshadow Palette which is a glorious palette of 10 ultra-soft eyeshadows in warm, nude shades in three different textures and finishes. Every woman needs a stunning eyeshadow palette in her life and this is one of the best things on the market right now in my opinion.
I’ll admit it, I’m one of those people that usually takes a picture of something I’ve ordered in a restaurant or a cafe before I eat it. I just want to remember how good it was and of course, I love to Instagram it. Winter is well and truly here and our minimalist bedroom can feel a little ‘cold’ as we haven’t quite finished our decorating and styling in there. I’ve taken the opportunity to have a little online shop around and pick some pieces that I’d like to add!
First up, the Miss Etoile Closed Eyes Cushion is super cute and would add some personality to the room. Some more personality-adders are prints and we don’t have any yet up in our room. This Wimbledon Print and Michelle Collins Mountain Print, both from John Lewis are so pretty, I love the colours.
London. Our crazy capital city! I love London in small chunks. A day trip, a weekend break or even just when I have to pop down for a working day occasionally. That’s enough for me! London is so busy that I can only take it in small-ish doses but I always enjoy it when I go because I’m always doing something new, seeing a different sight or eating at a recently-opened restaurant or coffee shop that we’ve spied on Instagram!

Plus last year’s Bake Off winner, Nadiya Hussain will also be there baking up a storm I expect.
