Spring time is all about lighter colours, new textures and cute animal faces apparently! I’ve scoured some of the best high street home ware retailers for some fresh new soft furnishings. I’m loving the Baines & Fricker pastel cushion covers, they remind me of the tea-towels you used to draw your face on in primary school, really cute. I also really love the shiny texture of the metallic cushions next to some super fluffy fuzz from the Yorkshire Linen Co, they make a really cool contrast. This week commencing the 27th July is the most popular holiday week for us Brits! Santander 123 credit card have been doing some summer research into the real cost of holidays and have found that the average daily spend on a holiday to Barbados (NOT including the hotel) is £109! Poland and India have come out cheapest with an average daily spend of just £30! Also, with paying for holidays 60% of us use cash or current accounts, 30% dip into their savings, 18% use a credit card and 8% take a loan or receive money from friends/family.
We popped down to the Castle Marina branch of Harvester last weekend for a little Sunday munchies action after I was invited for a review. Here’s what we thought of our meal! This was the first time either of us had eaten at a Harvester so we didn’t really know what to expect. We’d never really had the urge to eat there in the past to be honest as there’s one in Nottingham town centre but as it’s around the same price points as a lot of other eateries, there’s always somewhere else we’ve chosen. Let’s see what we had!
Since having my garden totally revamped and redesigned all I’ve been looking at is fancy garden furniture and wondering whether I should water my plants every 5 minutes. Drawing inspiration from Caribbean Blind’s amazing Outdoor Living Pods and some warm neutral colours to create a calming and harmonious outside space I’ve put together a little luxury (i.e in my dreams) wishlist of some lovely garden pieces. Here’s a little interiors update with my first shelf styling attempt in our living room! Our house is a mix of modern with some mid-century touches and a mix of monochrome with colour added in – plus it’s a mix of both me and Luke so the finished product is something that looks a little bit like this. I love shelf styling, I think it’s so clever – I’ve been poring over Pinterest for a few weeks now and finally decided to give it a little go.
You know what the best deliveries are? WINE DELIVERIES! I Heart Wines were kind enough to send me this little taster pack of their wine selection to see what I thought. I’m saving them up for a little wine & cheese night with the girls so I can’t wait for that.
What’s great about these baby-bottles of wine is that you don’t have to waste any! I love a glass of wine but I never buy a whole bottle unless we’re having a get together because I won’t get through the whole thing. They also sent the cutest Boomf marshmallows with their logo on which was a really nice touch. I Heart Wines are currently re-doing their website so I’ll be excited to see that when it goes live.
My first McCarthurGlen Designer Outlet experience was at Cheshire Oaks when I got lost with my mum on the way back from somewhere when I was about 10, I think! We thought we’d found the Mecca of shopping, it was awesome. So, when East Midlands Designer Outlet invited me along for a day of shopping to check out what they had on offer as part of their Spring/Summer accessories campaign, I was excited to say the least.
