November Money Diary

Another little money diary but this time with a difference because we collectively spent over £1,000 because we started really paying for our wedding next year! And, we went shopping so a little bit different to past diaries…

Thursday

Halloween! But, no freaky or creepy stuff for us tonight as we’re off to the O2 to watch Little Mix in one of the boxes. This is an amazing work perk, we get to apply for a seat in the box from one of our suppliers and I was lucky enough to get two tickets. Read More

How to pick the perfect winter weekend getaway

If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that I love to explore the UK and get out and about for long weekends and seasonal escapes! Check out our adventures to North Yorkshire and this amazing log cabin lodge that we found on AirBnb. I’m on the hunt for another break soon as the run up to Christmas, and the season itself, is bound to be manic.
You know what it’s like, countless catch ups, cocktails, cute festive activities, I mean it starts around Halloween and Bonfire night and continues for about two months, doesn’t it? As much as I love getting out and about and being busy during the festive period there’s something to be said about hitting the hard reset button after summer and getting a rest before the chaos ensues! But, how can you choose the perfect place that’s really going to relax you? 1. Know what you want to get out of your break When I’m looking for a weekend getaway it usually depends on how we’re feeling as to what we’re going for. We always plan to go somewhere based on what we feel we need to get out of the break. If we’re feeling a bit stressed by daily life, work and like we need to shake off the city and get some fresh air into our lungs then we’ll always look for somewhere to visit with some great walks and National Trust properties to visit and we’ll make the most of that membership. On this type of break we’ll be cosy, wear fleeces and generally not leave our cabin or apartment because it’s chill time.

But sometimes we want a super luxury break with a lovely, quaint city such as York to wander around, eat amazing food and stay in a luxury hotel or apartment. On this kind of break we’re after a treat, a gorgeous meal, a spa treatment, amazing cocktails – generally just feeling fancy and treating ourselves for working hard. Read More

One of the hardest things about work is often being organised. It’s a skill that almost everyone claims that they have on their resume when they’re applying for jobs, but once you’re sitting behind that desk and trying to figure out everything that you have to do that day, those organisational skills that you cultivated in high school by colour coding your notes and adding post-its to the most important pages of your text books feel like a million miles away. If that sounds familiar, here are some tips on the best ways you can get it together at work. Read More

at1.space with BumbleBizz #InternationalWomensDay

Last weekend the lovely Jess from Jess Who put on another one of her amazing Bumble events. This time it was a wellness workshop for International Women’s Day at at1.space, a relatively new yoga studio in Lenton – Notts. We had 75 minutes of warm yoga and meditation with Mumtaz, a senior instructor at at1.space which was just so energising and relaxing. Followed by some delicious avocado toast from the vegan cafe on site, this was the perfect Saturday! Read More

Post-payday Money Diary

Hey all *waving emoji*, I thought it’d been a little while since I did a spending diary. I had a bout of trying not to spend anything after Christmas including no clothes and many snacks so was leading a pretty boring life but spring is upon us, the sun is shining and this money diary starts on my payday. I’m doing a week Friday to Thursday for 7 days because I thought having a weekend right after payday is probably the good makings of a Money Diary. It’ll be a fairly normal week and I can run through a few bits I do with my money too. Read More
