Oh hi there, it’s been a little while and this post is exactly the reason why it’s been a couple of weeks since my last post. You can blame this little grey room for the lack of content around here because it’s just been super duper hectic as we’ve really cracked on with decorating these past few weeks.
4 steps to hygge in 2019
Heard of hygge? Well if you’re a fan of following home décor trends you’ll almost certainly have come across this term on your fave lifestyle blogs. I love it and I’ve read a few books on the Scandi art!
Quite simply, it’s the art of being cosy. It means, lots of blankets, cushions and natural looking style. Think wood, pottery and stoneware interiors.
My winter glow kit
Winter is killing my skin this year! I swear it’s not normally this bad but I really feel like I’ve had to ramp up the skincare this chilly season. I wanted to share some of the gems I’ve added into my skincare routine to help keep the glow and some make-up additions that are helping to keep me flawless.
5 very cute (& bargain-ous) hair clips
Yes, bargain-ous is a word. January was meant to be ‘no-spend’ month but I let myself off for a few little things and wanted to share some cute and super cheap hair accessories that I’ve spied recently! Pearl clips have been hitting up my Instagram for weeks now and I wanted to hunt one down that was really cheap because I knew I wouldn’t be wearing it year after year as it’s so trend based. Spoiler alert, these are all from eBay so if you fancy a bargain, check out the links at the end of the post.
Do you think you’re a good driver? #UKDrivingDistractions
Story time about driving coming up! I passed my test when I was only just 18 which was a really early age to pass I think. I literally started learning when I was 17 and I’d had a few airfield driving lessons before then. I went through two driving instructors and bloomin’ 4 practical tests but I passed my theory first time. I think I’m an OK driver. I’m careful because I don’t drive all that often anymore – probably once a week to go to Tesco, if that! We have our car on finance which is super affordable and means we can trade it back in in a few years but there’s car leasing to try too as well if you don’t want to buy your car outright if you’re thinking of buying a new one.
Red Dog Saloon Whole Hog Sundays
After all the Christmas treats, stuffing balls and mince pies we fancied a bit of different grub for a Sunday and recently headed to check out Red Dog Saloon‘s new Whole Hog Sunday offering. This has only been around since the 9th December so it’s a pretty new menu and we were invited to see what we thought.

Zero Budget Tracker Template & Other Money-Saving Hacks
UPDATED FEBRUARY 2020
I’ll admit it, I love saving money, sorting my life out and feeling super organised and in control. I read Refinery29 Money Diaries every week and write my own which you can find here, I save every month without fail and I love a coupon. I also love shopping and spending money on stuff I like which is why I don’t want to waste money in places where I could spend less. I also save so that I know I have something to fall back on in any emergency which is one of my main panics and anxieties about life, I won’t lie to you.
How to DIY Marble Bar Cart for £35
Vintage bar carts and drinks dressers are super popular at the moment and we’ve wanted to add one to our dining room since we moved in. We found a lovely one for £25 in a local vintage/retro shop and then picked up some awesome marble sticky back plastic for less than a tenner on eBay. This is the sticky back plastic that we used but there are loads of others on eBay and in DIY stores etc.
Top 3 red lip tips
The party season is the perfect time for a red lip. Now, I love red lipstick all year round but it’s especially fun and festive at Christmas time. Here are my three top tips for perfecting your pout.
1. Use a liner
If you find it tricky to keep your red lip neat, start off with a sharp lip liner in the same shade as your lipstick and trace the outline of your lips first – just make sure you’ve got a steady hand, your liner is sharp and you don’t over line your lips. Plus, if you want your lipstick to last longer, you can fill in your lips with your liner before you apply your lipstick too. Lipliner is less slippy than lipstick and therefore it’s easier to control the outline of the colour.
