3 Alternative Valentine’s Date Ideas

Love it or hate it, Valentine’s Day is less than a month away so I’ve got some date ideas for you that are a little bit out of the ordinary and not your standard “just going for a drink”! That may be just what you’re after but if you’re feeling like you want to do something a bit out of the ordinary I’ve got a few ideas that you might like to try.

1. The Zoo

I once went on a first date to the zoo and it was really nice to be able to have something to chat about as well as times where you can just chat to each other. I’m not sure how many zoos are open around Valentine’s so you could try an aquarium or something more weather-appropes!

2. Get Active

Getting out and about and doing something active can be a great date activity especially if you’re in the early stages! It’s great for a first date because you’re giving yourselves something else to talk about and concentrate on apart from each other. Try rollerblading, ice-skating, BMXing or trampolining and you’re guaranteed to have a good time whether you’re good at it or not. Luke and I went rock-climbing on our third date and it was really fun!

3. Eat, Eat, Eat

Eating is always a good date idea in my opinion, as long as you’re not on a date with someone who’s a fussy eater. Then it’s the worst! Maybe take your date to your favourite restaurant and talk about why you love it so much or you could try somewhere new that neither of you had been before. You’ve got plenty of time to talk in between courses and a subject to talk about plus you can talk about what other foods you love – this is obviously one of my favourite conversations.

A date to avoid if it’s the early stages (first-second dates), in my opinion, is the cinema because you can’t talk to each other and you’re just sitting in the dark next to someone you don’t really know – weird. Hope these ideas have helped to spark som inspiration for an unusual date. Happy Valentine’s!
