I’m usually a huge monochrome fiend as you probably know. I love to wear a lot of black, grey and white (well, white when I’m feeling brave and or not going near food or coffee) but occasionally I like a little pop of colour to an outfit and when I saw this bright yellow door near the castle in Nottingham, I knew I had to shoot an outfit photo here. Yep, I’m using a door as my pop of colour and I’m totally OK with that.
A lot of people say that they don’t have time for working out or they ‘hate the gym’ or even that they’re just not good at exercise. The same people usually say how they’d love to have the motivation to do it or they’d love to find something they’re good at. It’s simply not true that you can’t be good at exercise and you can’t find something that you enjoy that will keep you fit and healthy. It’s 2016, there are so, so many ways of working out it’s incredible. You just need to find the workout that works for you!
I only arrived home from Greece about two weeks ago but we’ve already booked a short break to Barcelona and I’m so excited. I’ve already been looking up the top things to do so if anyone’s got any recommendations for things to do, places to eat etc I’d love to hear them.
If you know me, you’ll know that 90% of the time I dress like a 5-year old and, what can I say, I like it. If you’re telling me that dungarees and trainers aren’t comfortable and therefore an amazing daily outfit choice then quite frankly, you’re silly.
These Blue Patchwork Denim Dungarees are my new favourites, they’re perfect for travelling or flying in, heading to a festival or trekking around a new city on a weekend break. The fit on these dungarees is absolutely perfect. I’ve tried so many pairs of dungarees recently I was starting to lose the hope I was going to find some but these New Look ones were the answer to all my denim prayers.
I spend a lot of my time in denim, black, white and navy with a sprinkling (OK, a bucket load) of Breton stripes. This is my usual wardrobe but when I head abroad to warmer weather I like to mix it up a bit with some jazzy prints and something a bit more exciting. It’s easy to get the ‘busy’ bug. It’s probably easier to drown in busy-ness than it is to effectively manage our time and properly achieve a work-life-gym-friends-blogging-actually having fun-balance. Well, it seems to be. Because we’re too busy to take a step back and effectively organise our life in order to improve it. This sucks but it seems to be the modern way. I’ve definitely been guilty of this myself.
I’ve been looking for the perfect pom pom embellished sandals for weeks! I’ve seen so many gorgeous pairs on Instagram that have been serious designer styles for prices way out of my purse’s little range. Then, also on Instagram, I spotted these babies from Ego. I’ve never heard of them before (despite the fact they’ve got over 200k Instagram followers!) but they remind of Public Desire in the way that they’re super on trend and really affordable shoes. From heels to sandals they’ve got them all. They’re not amazing quality but they’re absolutely perfect for summer holidays. Prepare to see these all over my Instagram in the coming weeks!

Say hello to my favourite new trousers. They’re just like forgotten P.E kit tracksuit bottoms and they really are the comfiest things ever! Plus, they go with almost everything because, monochrome. These ASOS babies are also under £30 which is a super-bargain and are really great quality. Styled up here with my (also favourite and super comfortable) Vans Old Skool and trusty white knit.
This leather skirt is one of my closet veterans. I say that because it’s been in my wardrobe for longer than two years which is a long stint as far as my clothes are concerned. This is because it’s amazing quality, the fit is spot on and it will never go out of style. This is the type of piece that you can easily dress up or play down and most of the time I play my denim down. This is a classic outfit for me. Navy + stripes + black + trainers = everyday uniform. It’s actually a shocker there’s no denim in sight!
I’m off to Greece in a few weeks and I really want a swimsuit for this summer’s holiday, I just think they look really cool for days out when you’re doing activities like quad biking or sailing. I prefer this to having a bikini on when I’m being active on holiday. I’ve been shopping around and trying to find the best fit and I’ve been torn between getting a cheap and cheerful one and investing a little bit more. I’m yet to find the perfect suit so I thought I’d pop together a little Save VS Spend on the topic!
