Having my tea out is one of my favourite hobbies. Yep, eating out is definitely a hobby, it’s 2016, I can claim that, right? Our latest trial was Coast To Coast in Victoria Centre, Nottingham. The all-American inspired restaurant is supposed to give you a taste of anywhere in the USA that you’d want to visit. Now, I don’t know really how authentic things are because I’ve only been to New York for a couple of days so I’m just going to rate it on the usual benchmarks…
Where To Eat In Nottingham: The Pudding Pantry
Need cake, epic hot chocolate, freak shakes, pancakes with bacon and coffee in your life? You need The Pudding Pantry in Nottingham. Located super close to Victoria Centre is this teeny tiny cafe that’s packed with character and insane cake. This has been one of my favourite places to head on a weekend for ages and I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t actually featured them on my blog before.
#BigHairDo At KH Hair Nottingham
If anyone knows how to throw a fab event, it’s KH Hair Nottingham. Their #BigHairDo event took place tonight and I popped along to see what they had happening.
I had a great colour consultation with Mary which is exciting as I’m actually booked in with Beth at KH Hair on Friday to have my colour redone so now I have an idea what I’m definitely going to go for and I won’t have the panic choice on the day!
New Home Haul: Part 1
I’ve called this the ‘Part 1’ haul on purpose because there’s absolutely zero point in calling it the only one because it almost definitely won’t be the last mini haul that I’ll be doing for our new flat.
At the weekend I headed to Victoria Retail Park in Netherfield, Nottingham and had a little browse. I didn’t realise that there were so many great shops for homeware haulin’ over there! There’s Next, B&M, TKMaxx, Argos, M&S Food, Boots and B&Q just to name a few places that are great for shopping for homeware and lifestyle. By lifestyle, I definitely mean crisps from M&S and makeup from Boots that I probably don’t need. But, if you’re in need of a shopping spree or a little retail therapy and don’t fancy attacking town then I’d head down to Victoria Retail Park if homeware is your thing.
Where To Eat In Nottingham: Annie’s Burger Shack
You know that craving you get that can only be suppressed by an absolutely massive, messy, sticky, yummy burger? Not just any old cheeseburger, a serious burger with all the toppings, a burger that basically eats you, you don’t eat it. Yep, that craving. Sometimes I get that craving and you just need an Annie’s Burger Shack. If you’re not from Nottingham, you won’t get these feels but if you ever come here, you need to indulge in an Annie’s.
Risley Hall Hotel & Spa Review
Here comes another hotel review for all you keen travellers! This weekend we stayed at the Risley Hall Hotel & Spa as part of a Red Letter Days gift that we received for Christmas and the hotel was so pretty I thought I’d write a little review as it’s a great location for the East Midlands.
Where To Eat In Nottingham: Copper
If you’re in need of a seriously good scone or slice of amazing home baked cake then Copper is the place to head. They have three locations in Nottingham, one city centre, Mapperley and West Bridgford. I’ve been to all three and they’re all amazing. I’m here to chat all things cream tea today but their brunch, main meals and lunchtime menu are equally awesome. I really recommend heading here if you’re anywhere near and are the slightest bit hungry.
My Run5.30 Nottingham Experience
When you tell people you’ve signed up to run a 5.3k race at 5.30am in the morning, most of them look at you like you’re a bit crazy! I felt a bit crazy as I got up at 4.30am on a Friday morning ready to get in my taxi at 5am and run around Nottingham city centre at half 5 in the morning.
Run 5.30 is an annual event where you can discover your city at a totally unknown time to you by running 5.3k at 5.30 in the morning. It’s a completely different feeling to wandering around the town centre at a normal time and it’s was so cool. The event began in Modena to encourage local people to take part in some physical activity and the creators now have 13 events across Italy, 3 in the UK and 2 in the USA. How great that Nottingham, Derby and Leicester are the UK ones? I think it really puts the East Midlands on the map!
Browns Afternoon Tea Review: Nottingham
What’s better than cosying up with tea and cake on a rainy Saturday afternoon? Pretty much nothing in my opinion. We headed to Browns in Nottingham to sample the Royal Afternoon Tea which comes with all your usual Afternoon Tea goodies but with a bonus British Royale cocktail topped with juicy blackberries.
Where To Eat In Nottingham: Ginza Teppanyaki
If you’re looking for a really different place for an extra special occasion then Ginza Teppanyaki is the place to go. Located on the Mansfield Road, in Sherwood, this unassuming Japanese restaurant is surprisingly awesome. If you’re in Nottingham and you like Japanese flavours, freshly cooked food and amazing service, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out.
