Where To Eat In Nottingham: Ginza Teppanyaki

If you’re looking for a really different place for an extra special occasion then Ginza Teppanyaki is the place to go. Located on the Mansfield Road, in Sherwood, this unassuming Japanese restaurant is surprisingly awesome. If you’re in Nottingham and you like Japanese flavours, freshly cooked food and amazing service, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out.

We headed to Ginza Teppanyaki on a triple date with some of our friends and it was an awesome experience. I’d definitely say to go with at least 4 of you because it’s great to share the atmosphere. If you don’t know what to expect at a Teppanyaki restaurant, I’ll walk you through it!

At Ginza, you have to pre-order your dishes about 10-15 minutes before you sit down and you choose from a selection of set menus which include a salad starter with a seafood or chicken side and then more seafood, chicken and steak dishes served with egg fried rice and mixed veg. Everything is cooked in front of you by your personal chef. You’ll be sat around a grill of between 8-10 people usually. All the food is cooked from scratch right in front of you and the showmanship and skills of the chefs is amazing! We loved the food and the service was really great. It’s a pricey night out but it’s definitely worth it. It’s not like you’d do it every weekend so it’s well worth a visit.
