If homeware shopping isn’t your favourite thing then I’m not sure we can be friends… Joking, obv we can but if you want to chat about homeware I’m your girl. Shopping is all kinds of fun for yourself but for the house it’s so much more fun isn’t it? I’ve been loving the summer sales that have been going on this month and wanted to share some amazing finds with you all! I would normally post only on Sundays, that’s been my regular routine but because I don’t want these bargains to get away I thought I’d do an earlier one this week.
When it comes to cute prints for my home and buying cards for birthdays and other occasions to give to my bestest I always love to grab them from independent artists, illustrators and all round creative amazing people that are just doing their thing and making incredible goods!
I wanted to share a small selection of some that I love on Instagram and some I’ve bought from in the past so can vouch for their amazing quality. Leave me more recommendations for cute Etsy shops and illustrators in the comments, I always love to discover newbies.
When it comes to home décor, flooring matters, it takes up a significant percentage of the surface area of any room, obviously! Everyone always notices the floor, even if they’re not aware of the fact that they do.
The floor you choose really sets the tone. It can also have a huge impact on how spacious a room feels. If you are decorating and want to make it feel larger, here are a few tricks!
Someone thought it was totally OK to give us a mortgage (here’s looking at you Natwest, no going back now) – so we bought a house! Hence why things have been a little thin on the ground and sporadic over the past few weeks – it gets a bit stressful, dunnit?
Now we’re in thanks to the in-laws of dreams and a lot of hard work and there’s not a cardboard box in sight after two and a half days of unpacking and sorting out. There’s something to be done in every room and it’s going to be at least a year, if not longer until everything is exactly how we want it to be, let’s not talk about the kitchen, but we’ll get there. So, here’s introducing a new section of proper interiors onto the blog. I’ve always loved interiors but living in rented flats and houses really limits you to basically changing your sheets and hanging a few prints if you’re handy with the Polyfilla so I’m really looking forward to finally being able to decorate like a grown up.
This post is 100% not sponsored. I bloody wish. Matalan, hit me up babes – we’d be a collab made in heaven, not gonna lie. I’m simply just a homeware junkie, Pinterest addict and we’re in the process of buying our first proper home so as you can expect, I am all about shopping for budget-friendly buys to pimp out our new pad. Yas! Here are 10 of my favourite things that Matalan are stocking at the moment. I dare you to not click add to basket.
Spring is nearly rolling around and our fluffy blankets are being put back into storage! As soon as it gets above 10 degrees I feel like I need a little home update to bring it into the new season. Some people might think it’s silly to think about styling your home for the new season but I think it definitely makes a difference. You don’t want thick blankets and overpowering cinnamon candles when we’re heading into April, do ya? Definitely not!
Sorry, I can’t. I’m washing my hair.
Does anyone actually ever use that hilarious excuse? Maybe, I don’t know but I might start. I usually wash my hair every two days and then liberally spray my entire head in dry shampoo every other day. I used to wash my hair every day before dry shampoo was a thing and I am so glad we have all moved with the times because I just couldn’t be bothered to wash it every day these days. Sleep is definitely more of a necessity! My Sunday routine often consists of face masks and hair washing (post bathroom cleaning – obviously!).
Browsing Pinterest for new ideas is one of the best ways (and my favourite ways) to get started when you’re planning any kind of interior makeover. From fixing up a single room to refreshing your entire home, you’ll find wonderful ideas for décor, furnishings and quirky artworks. And if you adore an upcycling challenge, Pinterest is the place to do your research. Here are just a few of the best home makeover tips to get you excited.
The festive season is well and truly here and I am all about getting sorted for Christmas. I’m wrapping gifts, buying advent calendars, booking in Christmas catch-ups and parties and popping up cute Christmas lights! Yas. Speaking of Christmas lights, how awesome are these customisable alphabet lights from Cox & Cox? If you know me, you’ll know that I am all about anything that I can customise, personalise or generally have my name on. I was all about those velvet headbands with my name on in the Nineties, so, why should that change? You could write Merry Christmas, your names, Ho Ho Ho, reindeer’s names, anything that’ll make you feel festive af.
I’ve always loved prints and, posters and sticking things up on my walls. From Kerrang! magazine posters to quirky prints from Urban Outfitters and IKEA now, I just love how they can change a room’s look and feel. I even painted Alexisonfire lyrics on my walls when I was 13, (sorry Mum), but I just love a bit of art, don’t I? On this note, we finally got around to doing something with our bedroom and giving it the same TLC that we’ve given the (only other) room in our flat, the kitchen/diner.
