Self-care is getting so much air time these days and it’s so great that it is. We’re all starting to realise how great it is to treat yourself, be Hygge at home, chill out, relax, stop beating ourselves up about eating chocolate biscuits and just generally be nice to ourselves. It’s all about relaxing, your wellbeing, your health, sleep quality, the list goes on. But, at the end of the day it’s all things that we should care SO much about but in this crazy modern age (lol how old am I?), we can forget about because we’re just “too busy”. Here are four of the ways that I’m trying to use to look after myself a little bit more. After all, we only gots one body and one mind, guys, might as well treat them right!
Hello, January! We’re into a new year and it’s time to do all those things that we’ve wanted to do for ages and for me. one of them is reading. I was bought some lovely books for Christmas and I can’t wait to get stuck in to them and do a little bedtime reading instead of scrolling. Here are the three books that I’ll be indulging in over January, they’re all different subjects but they’re all going to be super useful.
I’ve always loved prints and, posters and sticking things up on my walls. From Kerrang! magazine posters to quirky prints from Urban Outfitters and IKEA now, I just love how they can change a room’s look and feel. I even painted Alexisonfire lyrics on my walls when I was 13, (sorry Mum), but I just love a bit of art, don’t I? On this note, we finally got around to doing something with our bedroom and giving it the same TLC that we’ve given the (only other) room in our flat, the kitchen/diner.
It can be so easy to get the ‘busy bug’ as I call it and forget to actually socialise with your favourite people. Everyone’s lives are manic and it can be so difficult to find a date that everyone can get together. Or, worst case scenario – we end up cancelling because we’re too tired, right? This is such a bad habit of nowadays I think! Because we catch up over social media, we can sometimes think that we know what’s happening in our friends’ lives. But, we totally don’t. I decided to round up my favourites and start autumn the Swedish way and have a little dinner party with a few of our besties to get a little more social.
