5 Ways To Boost Your Creative Inspiration

Sometimes it’s hard to come up with fresh ideas when you’ve been in the blogging game for a while. I’ve been doing this for five years now and I’m loving it more than ever but with that, it becomes a lot tougher. Here are five ways that I boost my inspiration if I’m feeling like I’ve got a bit of writer’s block!

1. Step Away & Take A Break

I find that the best ideas for blog post, features, articles and everything else come when I least expect them. This might be a cliche but I think it’s definitely true. I have a random list on my iPhone reminders of post ideas, photo locations, outfit ideas (usually from chicks I’ve seen in the street!) and features I want to start. If you’re feeling a bit bogged down and pressured by the blogging world, take a week off, as scary as it sounds you’ll come back refreshed and ready and raring to go.

2. Get Out Of The Office

Sat at your desk, on your sofa or kitchen table and just not feeling it? Sometimes it can really make a difference to just get a change of scenery. Take your laptop, notebook or iPad down to your favourite coffee shop, get a cappuccino down you and it’ll help!

3. Get Creative

It can make a huge difference to just put your laptop down and do some doodles, maybe try that DIY project you’ve seen on Pinterest that you’ve been wanting to try for ages or whip up that fresh recipe you spotted on Instagram. Do something else other than blogging that’s creative and you’ll instantly have something to blog about!

4. Photograph Everything

When you’re constantly blogging it can feel that you really are taking photos of everything but have you gone back through these photos and seen if there’s any content in there? Do you take a photo of every awesome meal you have when you go out? That’s a Top 5 Favourite Places To Eat post right there. You don’t have to write a whole blog post on that mozzarella flatbread you had that one time but just include it with other related items and you’ve got a post!

5. Immerse Yourself

Read blogs. Seriously, read blogs that you love, read magazines and scour Instagram for stuff that inspires you. You’re not copying if you’re taking inspiration from someone and making an idea your own. I’m sure there’s been 10000 other How To Get Inspiration posts but these are my tips, what I do to get inspiration and therefore, it’s different!
