Christmas is definitely coming to my house… We’re whipping up the actual Christmas dinner this year (eek!) and I’ve wanted to make the house feel really Christmassy and the table super glam and festive without being a Christmas cliche. Enter, Next and their amazing circular pom pom trimmed placemats. They look awesome against a bit of kitsch tinsel and some snazzy matching beer bottles with some stand out branding. Yellow is definitely a fresh colour to give to Christmas, I think it’s quite unusual but works really well with gold which is obviously a classic.
Whilst having a wander through Next, ticking off some festive necessities like the table dressing at Victoria Retail Park I spotted some amazing Secret Santa gifts as well as a little pressie for myself too. (Psst, how cute is this boyfriend cardi?). As well as these seriously cool placemats from Next which I’m going to still use all year round (without the tinsel), I picked up two gifts – one perfect for family post-dinner games and one for a girly Secret Santa I’m a part of this year. I know she’ll love the little faces on these gorgeous scented candles because they’re too cute. Perfect for our £10 budget too.
The Chase card game will be perfect for post-dinner and pre-sandwich lols and if you know me, you’ll know how much I love trivia, a game show and generally being right about anything. This was only £6 and such an awesome little stocking filler for a geek like me or, as I’ve bought it, as a bit of family fun. Next has so many stocking fillers like these, from tasty treats like Reese’s Pieces selections to funny games and jokes – ideal for Christmas.
With their extensive free car park and awesome location really close to Nottingham city centre I found Victoria Retail Park a great place to pop and get prepped for Christmas. Snacks and treats from M&S Food Hall, stocking fillers from Next and some beauty treats for me from Boots. There’s also Greggs, Costa and McDonald’s if all that shopping makes you hungry! Victoria Retail Park kindly invited me down to check out their Christmas shopping essentials and I had a great time picking some cute Secret Santa gifts for my friends & family. What do you think of my alternative Christmas table style?
