Sleep is one of the most important things ever, this we know! It’s also one of my most favourite things and I really like a bedtime routine that chills me out and sets me up for the next day. I don’t like to rush around in the mornings either so a great evening routine sets me up for the following day, especially in the week when I have to leave for work. Here are 6 things that you can do to get a great night’s sleep and get organised as a bonus!
1. Food Prep & Outfit Plan
Make yourself some lunch and some snacks for the following day so you’re not rushing around in the morning grabbing whatever you can see to eat for the day. It’s also a great idea to plan what you’re going to wear the next day and get it ironed if needs be, this will save you time in the morning and then there’s no panicking either!
2. Stretch Or Meditate
10 minutes of stretching or light yoga can be a great way to chill you out and relax a little bit before you head to bed and it’s great for your circulation too! Or, you could try some light meditation. I love the app Headspace, it makes me fall asleep so easily and really chills me out.
3. Make Your Bed
This is a good bedtime habit that kicks in first thing in the morning! Once you’re out, make your bed and make it look great. This will make you much more excited to jump back into bed in the evening. Great sheets, throws, cushions and bed linen are the key to a cosy looking bed.
4. Switch Off Early
Try and get off phones, iPads, laptops and watching the telly at least half an hour before you want to try and fall asleep. Read a book, do a sudoku or even flick through a magazine.
5. Wear Your Retainer
Seriously! You didn’t have braces for all that time not to keep your teeth looking as perfect as you originally wanted.
6. Beauty Habits
Create your beauty habits if it’s something that you’d like to keep up with. Fake tan, do a face or a hair mask or paint your nails. You know you’ll enjoy the end result so you might as well put a little effort in!
