Self-care is getting so much air time these days and it’s so great that it is. We’re all starting to realise how great it is to treat yourself, be Hygge at home, chill out, relax, stop beating ourselves up about eating chocolate biscuits and just generally be nice to ourselves. It’s all about relaxing, your wellbeing, your health, sleep quality, the list goes on. But, at the end of the day it’s all things that we should care SO much about but in this crazy modern age (lol how old am I?), we can forget about because we’re just “too busy”. Here are four of the ways that I’m trying to use to look after myself a little bit more. After all, we only gots one body and one mind, guys, might as well treat them right!
When I say ‘free’ weekend I mean those super rare ones where you have absolutely zero plans! I had one last weekend for the first time in about 6 weeks. We’ve been up and down the country, zipping to various appointments, seeing friends and family and having city breaks. Check out my favourite place for coffee in Leeds and where we stayed if you’re interested. I love being busy but it almost becomes a novelty when you have a weekend that you can do anything that you want with. Here are 7 things that I like to do when I have all the time in the world.
Can you believe it’s April already? I can’t even believe it’s Sunday already. Where does the time go? Weekends seem to fly by in a flash, especially when they’re jam packed and busy. I love a busy Saturday and a chilled out Sunday. This seems to be our go-to formula for a perfect weekend.
Sometimes the hectic nature of our day to day lives can be super overwhelming, which affects our mental and physical health. When things seem like they’re getting on top of us, it’s important to take time out and re-energise for a while, take a break and take a look at what really matters. We all need to have some down time now and then, which is the key to keeping us balanced! There are many simple ways to destress and switch off from the world – here are four of my favourite ways.
Sleep is one of the most important things ever, this we know! It’s also one of my most favourite things and I really like a bedtime routine that chills me out and sets me up for the next day. I don’t like to rush around in the mornings either so a great evening routine sets me up for the following day, especially in the week when I have to leave for work. Here are 6 things that you can do to get a great night’s sleep and get organised as a bonus!
The summer time can be a busy time for the old social life because it’s just so much nicer to get out and do things but it’s also important to find time to relax. I also find that I like to work out a lot more in the summer months because it’s lighter, brighter and obviously a lot warmer. But, this means I’m definitely a lot more interested in trying to chill out and rest up if I’ve been killing it in the gym when temperatures rise!
