Can you believe it’s April already? I can’t even believe it’s Sunday already. Where does the time go? Weekends seem to fly by in a flash, especially when they’re jam packed and busy. I love a busy Saturday and a chilled out Sunday. This seems to be our go-to formula for a perfect weekend.

As a food blogger I’m always on the look out for things that are a little different or intriguing, this blog lists a selection of restaurants that are a little weirder than others you may expect. Their quirkiness could come from décor, food or just generally the way they work. I hope you find these suggestions inspire you to try something a little different this weekend!
Strada Birmingham ICC Review
We headed down to Birmingham last weekend to see Lower Than Atlantis and Hands Like Houses at the O2 Academy which was pretty great! Before our gig we headed to Strada at the ICC for some pre-show munching so I thought I’d tell you what I thought. The ICC is just by Brindley Place and the canal so the setting is lovely as you can see out of the window. In the summer, I bet it’s amazing as Strada can open up the doors for a little al fresco dining.
Little Luxuries & Weekend Rituals
Weekend coffees and brunches at home are one of those little luxuries that I’ll never give up. I love heading out for breakfast but nothing quite beats not having to get ready before you tuck into some tasty eggs or pastries and coffee in the morning. It’s just a little bit of at-home luxury that we love to kick off our weekend with. Do you have any weekend rituals that you live by?
The Prettiest Meringues Ever?
If someone said to you wine flavoured meringue you’d be all, erm, yes. Right? Totally. That what happened when I heard about the I heart wines collaboration with the awesome Meringue Girls – the stars that made those burger macaroons for the Tommy Hilfiger LFW show! They’ve worked together to create this gorgeous range of Merlot, Prosecco and Rose meringues. I’ve got the recipe here the Rose meringue kisses for you, thanks to I heart wines, so if you’re the baking way inclined (which I am not, I am the eating way inclined), you can make them yourself! But, all the same, they’re delicious whether you eat or create them!
Petit Paris Review Nottingham
It was my birthday a few weeks ago and I wanted a family meal with some of my nearest and dearest in a nice setting. I wanted a chilled atmosphere that wasn’t too loud, somewhere we could chat, have some nice wine and also amazing food. I’d seen Petit Paris a lot, simply walked past it and noticed it’s cute Paris-styled sign but never eaten there. But, now I have, I 100% would again!
Where To Eat In Dublin: San Lorenzo’s
Brunch, the meal of our generation, right? I don’t think anyone’s eaten as much #avocadotoast or eggs with a side of coffee than Gen Z, right? Definitely and I’m not complaining. Brunch has to be one of my favourite meals ever and it’s basically what all of our holidays and trips revolve around. During our Dublin trip, we headed to the well-recommended San Lorenzo’s, a New York/Italian style restaurant in the heart of the city centre. You can check our their brunch menu or read on for a taste of our experience!
Pieminister £5 Brunch Review
Brunch is probably one of my favourite meals, it’s got to be said! I’m always super hungry for it because I’ve basically skipped breakfast and when it comes to 11 am, I’m so ready for a feast. We headed down to Pieminister to try their new £5 Brunch menu. I know what you’re thinking… Pies? For brunch? Not sure.
3 Amazing Berry Pancake Recipes & Win A Breville Crepe Maker!
What’s the difference between a pancake and a crepe? Apparently, pancakes are thicker, fluffier and include a raising agent, so our pancakes that we usually call pancakes are actually crepes. Fun facts for Pancake Day! Anyway, we know we’re all still going to call them pancakes and we’re all going to eat them on the 28th February and they’re going to be damn tasty.
Browns Brasserie Tender Beef Menu Review
We headed out to Browns Brasserie Nottingham for a weekend celebration for my birthday and went out for it and tried their limited edition Tender Beef menu which our awesome waiter, Raj, was telling us was only available for a few months until they change it to lamb (which we’ll definitely be going back to try FYI).
