Healthy eating is all about the preparation. Here are five tips that I think make healthy easier (I won’t call it dieting because it’s not a quick fix!). I do all of these things in my day to day life to make eating generally easier because being hungry is just something I’m interested in! I hope they’re helpful.
October equals autumn and autumn equals new beauty essentials as far as I’m concerned. These are my five fresh autumnal products that have crept their way into my routine for this month. Spoiler alert, I already love quite a few of these so I might just re-use this as my October favourites but don’t tell my blog schedule…
Today’s post is a quick recipe update of my Strawberry & Banana Oaty Bars which are a go-to snack for me at the moment! They’re super comforting, great with a cup of tea and come in at just over 100 calories per bar. I’m whipping up a batch every weekend right now as they’re so easy to take to work for snacks and are super tasty but this week I decided to give them a bit of a decadent edge with the addition of some Butterfly & The Bee jam in Apricot & Amaretto flavour. Yes, it’s as good as it sounds. I’ve replaced the chia and strawberry jam with this delightful jar of sweetness and they’ve turned out pretty well! I’ve also upped the oat content to 100g instead of 80g and replaced the instant oats/oat flour with oat bran and they’ve come out much more solid each time I’ve made them this way. A definite improvement.
Brunch is big business in Barcelona! We found that breakfast, brunch, and lunch were super easy meals to find great places to eat but dinner was a little more difficult. I had a great colour consultation with Mary which is exciting as I’m actually booked in with Beth at KH Hair on Friday to have my colour redone so now I have an idea what I’m definitely going to go for and I won’t have the panic choice on the day!

My favourites this month are four special things that have been making my beauty and shower routines feel a little more luxe! It’s always nice to have some luxury in your life and these products definitely have been giving me a little extra in the decadent department.
First up are these Maria Nila Stockholm Luminous Colour Shampoo & Conditioner. These smell fab and left my hair feeling super soft and just clean and lovely. I’ve wanted to try this brand for so long after seeing them all over Instagram, they’re just so pretty and the packaging is gorgeous. I actually won these, luckily, on a little Facebook competition along with a few other products so I was over the moon! I’m not sure if I’d repurchase them yet because they’re quite pricey but I’m loving that I won them. I’d recommend them for sure for coloured hair though because they left my hair in great condition.
I’m usually a chuck everything in a huge tote and carry around too much stuff kinda gal but when I saw this Faux Leather Mini Grab Tote I thought it was probably about time for me to streamline my handbag nightmare and embrace the minimalist life. Plus, it’s so cute and pretty and perfect for the winter time with it’s icy blue/grey colour. I also thought this was a bargain for only £29.50 and they had their extra special Sparks 20% off event on too so it was only around £23.60! I’ve been eyeing up these mini styles of bags for a while but this is the perfect mini but not too tiny size.I also bought a fab grey wool coat that you’ll be seeing pop up in a few posts very soon. My usual style of cooking is pretty quick! The dishes that I tend to whip are usually whack everything in a casserole dish and leave in the oven for 30 minutes or something I can fry or boil up quickly in a pan. But, after finding a crazy bargain leg of pork from Morrisons’ reduced section, about £1.49 if I remember rightly (which I do because I’ve been bragging about it to my fellow yellow label lovers), I decided to do a roast.
Since signing up for my British Heart Foundation Maraton in a Month I’ve been thinking more about charity and what everyone can do to help so when Tetley (yep, the tea!) contacted me and told me all about their The Tetley Smile Challenge I knew I had to share it! It’s a major new campaign to celebrate a $1 million donation by Tetley and Tata Sons to The Smile Train cleft lip charity. The aim of the Smile Challenge is to capture one million smiles to help support Smile Train, which funds life-changing surgery for children born with a cleft lip or palate.
