While I’m still trying to prolong the end of summer as this weird hot October weather is taking over, I need to accept that the seasons are changing! With this change comes loads to look forward to – one of those being new hair trends to try out. I’m definitely going to go a little darker for the winter as I’ve been quite blonde for most of the summer. Check out these 6 sweet trends for AW.
Autumn is officially here, rejoice with the leaf emojis, hot chocolates and Christmas lists. Yes. Here are 4 basic bish things that I love about autumn.
1. Buying and wearing knitwear
You might have caught my fave new knit over on Instagram that came from my 9 fave AW season knitwear pics post. The ASOS babe that has the perfect slouch, a lovely high neck and a cosy autumnal colour. Knitwear, jumpers, sweater weather, whatever you want to call it, buying and wearing cosy pieces are one of the best things about autumn. I haven’t yet got all of my really thick knits out of storage yet but I tell ya, it’s coming soon.
Summer hasn’t even really arrived yet, although it’s been really, really nice this week! But, it’s not too soon to be thinking about your autumnal wardrobe. Once the summer has passed dressing gets tricky. The summer stuff returns to the box under the bed and warmer alternatives are needed. Belted coats, dusky blues and vintage-inspired fur coats are all returning to our wardrobes this season.
This ASOS Parka has been glued to my back ever since the temperatures dropped because it’s so cosy and surprisingly warm when it’s all buttoned up and you’ve got a scarf on and the hood up! Cosy as anything. You can usually find me in a Breton top, this New Look Striped Top, (similar here) was a bargain a few months ago at under a tenner and I’ve had so much wear out of it. I just love a classic striped top because they always go great with skinny jeans. My skinnies of choice at the moment are the Topshop Black Jamie Jeans. Finally, these Deichmann Loafers have made their way into my winter wardrobe. I’m usually a trainers girl through and through but occasionally it’s nice to wear an actual pair of shoes!
October equals autumn and autumn equals new beauty essentials as far as I’m concerned. These are my five fresh autumnal products that have crept their way into my routine for this month. Spoiler alert, I already love quite a few of these so I might just re-use this as my October favourites but don’t tell my blog schedule…
I’m usually a chuck everything in a huge tote and carry around too much stuff kinda gal but when I saw this Faux Leather Mini Grab Tote I thought it was probably about time for me to streamline my handbag nightmare and embrace the minimalist life. Plus, it’s so cute and pretty and perfect for the winter time with it’s icy blue/grey colour. I also thought this was a bargain for only £29.50 and they had their extra special Sparks 20% off event on too so it was only around £23.60! I’ve been eyeing up these mini styles of bags for a while but this is the perfect mini but not too tiny size.I also bought a fab grey wool coat that you’ll be seeing pop up in a few posts very soon. Bravo M&S!
I know it’s uncharacteristically warm for September but I’m really craving a temperature drop! I can’t wait to layer up with cosy scarves and knitwear and I always feel like I look nicer in the autumn and winter, style-wise. I’m much more comfortable when I’m wrapped up and I much prefer darker colours and thicker materials like leather and wool. Here’s my new season wish list. Come on weather, keep up!
If there’s anything about autumn that I love it’s the colours. All the browns and oranges and rusty colours are creeping onto the high-street and this New Look sleeveless tunic knit is fast becoming one of my favourite pieces. I love a roll-neck sweater for the colder months. I’ve layered it over a black long sleeved top to keep cosy and then popped over my favourite suede jacket of the moment from Next.
A new season calls for a new bag, right? Well I’ve been touting round my vintage leather saddle bag or my bright red slouchy bag for the majority of the summer and they just aren’t cutting it with my favourite new A/W pieces. I’m going with a lot of earthy tones, suede and knitwear (naturally, being chilly!) and my new Radley Border Backpack in Taupe* fits in perfectly with my seasonal outfits.
