Autumn is officially here, rejoice with the leaf emojis, hot chocolates and Christmas lists. Yes. Here are 4 basic bish things that I love about autumn.
1. Buying and wearing knitwear
You might have caught my fave new knit over on Instagram that came from my 9 fave AW season knitwear pics post. The ASOS babe that has the perfect slouch, a lovely high neck and a cosy autumnal colour. Knitwear, jumpers, sweater weather, whatever you want to call it, buying and wearing cosy pieces are one of the best things about autumn. I haven’t yet got all of my really thick knits out of storage yet but I tell ya, it’s coming soon.
2. Darker evenings
Lighting candles now actually makes a difference and using all those lamps we’ve all got dotted can finally happen! I’m loving gigantic candles at the moment, they look great in my living room and this Bolsius frosted garden scent is fresh and pretty but not overpowering. I’m not a huge fan of cinnamon or classic ‘winter’ scents so this is perfect.
3. Changing the duvet
The winter duvet is now officially out of the airing cupboard and vacuum packed bag and firmly back on the bed. I just can’t wait to get the faux fur throw out too but that’s waiting until at least November.
4. Cooking cosy dinners
Stew, chilli, curry, anything with potato in it, you name it, I’ll cook it if it’s comforting in the winter. I just love autumn and winter flavours and the feeling of tucking into a comforting meal. Check out three of my favourite cookbooks here. What are your go-to autumn winter recipes?
