I’m going to kick this off by saying whoever invented halloumi is seriously special. I mean, those Greeks know how to do cheese. And that’s exactly what we started our dinner at Around The World with. Around The World is part of the new Bierkeller complex that’s hit up Friar Lane in Notts city centre. (It’s in the old Walkabout for anyone who’s bad with street names!) Around The World is a bar with Bierkeller German Stein and Hotdog bar below and a Shooters sports bar above it. I’ve heard Grillstock is where the whole BBQ trend in the UK and, as much of a BBQ food fan that I am, I hadn’t visited one until last month.

I was craving a chicken burger and opted for the Bluegrass Chicken Burger which is a simple Southern Fried chicken burger (which is huge by the way!) it’s paired with lettuce, tomato, and juke sauce which is so tasty. This is possibly the nicest chicken burger I’ve had in a long time, the chicken was tender and I loved the seasoning. If you know me, you know I love food and I’m a little obsessed with a good burger. We checked out Handmade Burger Co for the second time recently as they invited us for a little review at our local, the Intu Victoria Centre.

Eating is all about balance and I’m into a super food salad as much as the next person but sometimes you really need a great big burger with bacon, cheese and all the avocado. That’s exactly what I tried when we hit up Handmade Burger Co recently. I actually added the brie to the menu-written avocado and bacon burger that already comes with amazing red pepper relish, mayo, lettuce, tomato and red onion. This weekend I was invited down to Revolution Hockley to give their new street-food inspired ‘Revolution Kitchen’ menu a try. We all know ‘Vodka Revs’ as the place of 1000 different types of vodka and your average high-end pub food with 50% off Mondays. These guys are breaking out of the mould and actually giving their menu some extra thought.
