Jeans are 100% my go to thing to wear every day. They’re just so easy and I’m lucky enough to have a job casual enough that I can wear them every day if I wanted to. As the trends of SS18 make their way into our wardrobes, it’s time to choose your faves! But, when it comes to washes, shapes and styles, do you know this season’s jeans and if they’re going to make you feel awesome? Let’s check it out.
This ASOS oversized oatmeal jumper has taken over my life, I’m not gonna lie to you. It’s the warmest, softest, cosiest thing ever and it’s just making getting ready so easy. It goes with every colour of denim, every jacket I own and pretty much all of my shoes so we’re getting on like a house on fire.
What’s the difference between your weekday and weekend style? Do you have to wear a uniform or a suit or are you super casual all the time?
Workwear style for me is fairly similar to my day to day style but I do try to wear trousers, boots, shirts and other ‘smarter’ items during the week. Weekends can often mean sweatshirts, leggings and general gym kit and my favourite Vans t-shirts. But, sometimes when I’ve got a little something something going on (usually brunch or lunch let’s not lie) it can be nice to make some more effort on the weekend with style.
Denim is one of those things that I think people have comfort blankets with, it definitely is for me. I’m 80% a skinny jeans girl these days and have been for a long time now. Pre-skinny jeans days it was all about the boot cut for the school disco, right? And before the boot cut days it was all about the skater fit jeans – remember those Tammy Girl dreamboats? Amazing. The more ripped, the baggier, the grubbier, the better. Those were the days. My jeans evolution has grown with me as I’m sure it has for most people my age and denim will always be my number one go-to for the start of an outfit.
The sales have been going cu-razy recently, I’m sure you’ve noticed! I managed to stay away for a while but decided to take the plunge and try a few pieces that I’ve been after i.e the perfect indigo jeans and the perfect striped top. I thought I’d share 4 tips for shopping the sales so you can grab the best bargains and fill your wardrobe with absolute dreams.
It’s official, say goodbye to your trusty skinny jeans (sob!) and welcome the old favourite straight leg denim back into your life. Straight leg jeans are the epitome of relaxed style, coming in and out of trends as time rolls on – but its official, they are back on trend for 2017.
Getting the right fit is vital. Make sure they’re slim, but not tight like skinnies. With a clean-cut but casual look, they look great with sweaters or relaxed tees. They are great for perfecting the chilled-out style. Whilst choosing the right top to match with your jeans is pretty easy – shoes however, can be tricky. They can make or break an outfit, so choose wisely when finishing off your outfit. Here are some of my favourite choices…
Personal style is one of those things I like to think I’ve had all my life. From my beloved emo stage to where I am today I think I’ve always had my own sense of style. I’m happy that I’m never going to be a cookie-cutter Instagram-famous Missguided-wearing (OK, I have some pieces from Missguided but you know the dresses I mean!) type of girl. I’m more likely going to be wearing something a little bit fun like a faux fur bag or trying my best to channel a minimalist Scandi look than a bodycon dress, sky high heels or the latest slogan t-shirt.
I’ve been kind of a bad blogger recently but you know when you can’t really get excited about anything and need a bit of a break? Yep. Pretty much it! That said, I did publish two posts last week and some people only do one post a week as standard so I don’t think I should beat myself up about it at all. I’m having a bit of a chill out with my blog at the moment, I still love it but I don’t want it to feel like a chore. So, when I don’t feel like blogging about anything, I won’t. This way, hopefully, every post will actually be as good as I want it to be and it won’t be forced at all.
