Ok, ok, maybe a bit click bait-y but it’s totally true. Leeds is the only city I’ve been to on a city break that I could see myself living in. We’ve been to Amsterdam, Dublin, Barcelona (up there!), Manchester, London and loads more in the few years that we’ve been together and Leeds was definitely my favourite city break.
Leeds city centre is lovely. So clean and feels really new and there’s everything you need within a 5 minute walk. Sushi? You got it. Cinema? Literally around the corner. Shopping in literally every store you’ve ever thought of? Everywhere! We stayed at the super-central The Queens Hotel and had a fab stay. We were upgraded to the 8th (top) floor QClub which had it’s own private bar with free hot drinks, wine and beer from 6pm-8pm. This was such a nice touch as it was great to have a drink before we headed out for the night.
The room was fantastic, really different and funky because it was Art Deco themed. The bathroom was lovely too and we had our own roof terrace that would be amazing to sit out on when the weather is nice.
I’d massively recommend staying at The Queens if you’re in Leeds as the location was fantastic, the staff were amazingly helpful (there’s even a valet car service that park it for you!), the breakfast was great quality and the rooms were clean and well stocked. Thumbs up from me.
