My Saturdays have been a little crazy recently, we had our mini break to Oxford, we visited my parents back in Bath (hey, Grillstock!) and I spent a Saturday shooting some awesome photos for the blog with Anna from Pear & Bear Photography too. I love being busy but my Saturdays are always the best when they’re lazy. Usually, I head to Crossfit for 8am for an interval session and to catch up with the team there. Then, I head home, grab some breakfast and tidy round the house before we head into town for some lunch or just a coffee.
11 Props Every Blogger Needs
This is by no means a photography masterclass. I’m constantly working on my photography and feel like it’s improved but I know I’ve definitely got a long way to go with it. One thing I’ve learnt along my blogging journey, if you could call it that, is the fact that props are everything. We may not all be blessed with gorgeous apartments, marble kitchen work surfaces, and amazing light all the time but you can fake it ’til you make it with the addition of some seriously good props.
4 Steps Ensure You’re As Healthy As You Think
Our health is important as it can impact our lives in so many ways. A lot of us actively choose to lead healthy lifestyles; we exercise regularly and eat right. However, when it comes to being healthy, that isn’t always all it takes. Studies have shown that a lot of people who class themselves as ‘healthy’ aren’t as healthy as they think – shock -horror!
NEW: The Body Shop Pinita Colada Collection
If you like Pina Coladas and smelling like a coconutty pineapple dream then you need The Body Shop‘s new Pinita Colada range in your life. Not sure they’re the lyrics but, hey! I was obsessed with their lime-drenched Mojito range that they released last summer and they’ve just brought out their next cocktail-inspired collection.
6 Reasons To Eat At Thaikhun
I’m a big Thai food fan but have only eaten in traditional Thai restaurants until Thaikhun and it’s arch rival Zaap landed in Nottingham. Let’s forget about the chaos of Zaap for now though because this post is all about the chilled out Thai dream that is Thaikhun.
1. The Atmosphere
Leather Goods
This leather skirt is one of my closet veterans. I say that because it’s been in my wardrobe for longer than two years which is a long stint as far as my clothes are concerned. This is because it’s amazing quality, the fit is spot on and it will never go out of style. This is the type of piece that you can easily dress up or play down and most of the time I play my denim down. This is a classic outfit for me. Navy + stripes + black + trainers = everyday uniform. It’s actually a shocker there’s no denim in sight!
Save VS Spend: The Swimsuit Edition
I’m off to Greece in a few weeks and I really want a swimsuit for this summer’s holiday, I just think they look really cool for days out when you’re doing activities like quad biking or sailing. I prefer this to having a bikini on when I’m being active on holiday. I’ve been shopping around and trying to find the best fit and I’ve been torn between getting a cheap and cheerful one and investing a little bit more. I’m yet to find the perfect suit so I thought I’d pop together a little Save VS Spend on the topic!
Where To Eat In Bath: Grillstock
I’ve heard Grillstock is where the whole BBQ trend in the UK and, as much of a BBQ food fan that I am, I hadn’t visited one until last month.
I was craving a chicken burger and opted for the Bluegrass Chicken Burger which is a simple Southern Fried chicken burger (which is huge by the way!) it’s paired with lettuce, tomato, and juke sauce which is so tasty. This is possibly the nicest chicken burger I’ve had in a long time, the chicken was tender and I loved the seasoning. Plus, it was such good value for money at only £8.50 including a heap of house fries.
5 Reasons To Always Wear SPF
If a pineapple Krazy Straw cup doesn’t scream summer then I don’t know what does! How cute is this? It arrived on my doorstep in a really cute package from Bon Prix alongside a cute kaftan, a festival-ready floral headband, an awesome branded tote bag and some essential SPF products.
These dinky little SPF is what I want to base this post all about because sunscreen is so, so, so important!
How To Be Healthy This Festival Season
Festivals are pretty much one of the best things about summer (shout out to summer holidays too) and if you’re yet to don your finest festival attire – denim shorts, some kind of fringing and wellies obvs – in your lifetime for a weekend of muddy musical mayhem then quite frankly you’re missing out.
