Hands up who loves coconut oil? *Insert emoji girl here*

For me, coconut oil is a must for cooking with, I especially like it when I’m making Asian food like stir-fry or curries! I also love it when my skin’s playing up as a moisturiser when I don’t want to use any harsh chemicals or artificial products.

But what are the actual benefits of 2015’s most talked about product? Coconut oil contains, wait for it, “short term medium-chain saturated fatty acids (MCFAs)”. These are healthier saturated fats than trans fats and therefore bettwe for you! Our bodies metabolises these fats in the liver which converts to energy for our brains and muscle instead of being stored as fats. Clever, huh?
