If you’ve been following me on Instagram you’ll know I’ve just come back from a week long Greek escape on the island of Corfu. Specifically, we stayed in Kassiopi, a tiny little harbour town on the East side of the island. We visited here last year and decided to venture back as it’s such a beautiful place and we wanted a surefire amazing holiday location.
Kassiopi didn’t disappoint, we stayed in the same hotel as last time as it was lovely and this time, I decided they definitely deserved a glowing review because it obviously wasn’t just a fluke good stay! The Melina Bay Seaside Boutique Hotel opened in 2014 and only has 22 rooms. The hotel is in the heart of the harbour and is directly in front of the old Byzantine castle of Kassiopi but it’s totally modern and amazingly chic.
The rooms are so comfortable and feel really luxury. All of the bedding, towels and furnishings are amazing quality and you get super slick room service every day with clean towels whenever you want and tea and coffee making facilities. There’s also a shower room, a good sized fridge and a balcony overlooking the harbour and the sea.
During our stay we enjoyed the buffet breakfast that was included with our room rate. There’s a huge selection of fruit, yoghurt, cereal, cooked breakfast, four different types of bread, jams, pastries and loads more plus coffee, tea and juice. Needless to say, this is one of the best breakfast spots in the whole town and is only 7 Euro to eat there if you’re not a guest which is a really good price.
The staff at Melina Bay work so hard, we only saw the same members of staff the entire week that we were there so they obviously don’t have a rota with a tonne of staff, we were really impressed. We extended our stay whilst we were there and they kindly knocked us off €5 a night and saved us a good €20 (which is a couple of cocktails!) and they also helped us rearrange our transfers and print off our new boarding passes which we couldn’t have done without them.
I’d definitely recommend staying at Melina Bay if you ever visit Kassiopi because it’s serious luxury, the food is amazing and it’s in an amazing location.
