Weekend activities vary from week to week. One week it’s kettlebells and blog shoots and other weekends it’s city breaks. We love to pack loads into our free time and this weekend we headed to Chatsworth House to take advantage of an amazing gift we were bought for Christmas – the Cavendish Afternoon Tea. I definitely thought this would be the perfect opportunity for some photos.
The setting was stunning, a lot more modern than I expected if I’m honest and the deocr was really lovely and every table was laid with these lovely pieces of Wedgewood crockery and tea sets. There was amazing brass cutlery too! The staff were super attentive and lovely. We chose our teas from an extensive menu and we settled down to wait for our sandwiches which were lovely.
There was another version of afternoon tea which we saw other people having which had different sandwiches and different cakes which was odd, I think they should keep it the same for everyone or at least give you an option to choose. I was definitely eyeing up someone’s coronation chicken sandwiches and kiwi tart!
Our afternoon tea came with wine which was lovely but also odd again because I didn’t know whether to go from tea to sandwich to wine and then back to tea again? The wine was lovely though, we chose rosé – our favourite.
We had these teeny sultana and cherry scones and then a selection of cakes including macaroons, a lemon posset and a dark chocolate tart. There was also a little pineapple éclair type thing which was nice but I’ve not had anything like these before. The whole thing was a completely different afternoon tea experience but I’d definitely recommend it and it was an amazing gift to receive.
