I’ve wrapped my presents, bought my Secret Santa, got the tree up and we’ve been listening to Heart Extra Xmas in the car since probably about 8am on the 1st December so I’m definitely feeling festive. A lot of mince pies have been eaten and it’s actually started to snow so Christmas is creeping up on us quite quickly!
I’ve always loved prints and, posters and sticking things up on my walls. From Kerrang! magazine posters to quirky prints from Urban Outfitters and IKEA now, I just love how they can change a room’s look and feel. I even painted Alexisonfire lyrics on my walls when I was 13, (sorry Mum), but I just love a bit of art, don’t I? On this note, we finally got around to doing something with our bedroom and giving it the same TLC that we’ve given the (only other) room in our flat, the kitchen/diner.
For most people, their home is their haven. Somewhere they can relax when things get them down. At home, you can truly relax, be yourself and do what you want, when you want, right? Totally.

Inspiration is a huge thing to me. But, there are so many things that people demonise these days like Instagram, the internet and hashtags like #inspo because they’re bad for people’s self confidence. I totally agree that it goes too far sometimes but I think that Instagram and Pinterest especially can be amazing for motivation and inspiration for yourself!
When I say ‘free’ weekend I mean those super rare ones where you have absolutely zero plans! I had one last weekend for the first time in about 6 weeks. We’ve been up and down the country, zipping to various appointments, seeing friends and family and having city breaks. Half of the people surveyed by slatergordon.co.uk don’t care that they could get hurt or injure someone else by just doing a little DIY. These people be crazy. I mean 45% of these people would just drill into a wall. Calm your drills, guys.
I’ve become obsessed with the Refinery 29 Money Diaries! I don’t know why, maybe I’m just nosy, maybe I just want to know whether I spend a normal amount of money? I don’t know! If you’ve not read them, it’s basically an insight into what women with different salaries, different lives and who live in different areas of the UK spend every week. I also spotted that Gillian from Elevator Musik did her own version so I decided I would too!
Staying hydrated is a huge thing for me. I’m constantly drinking water both to keep myself hydrated and I’ve also got into the habit of carrying water everywhere because if my Invisalign, incase I need a quick drink to make them more comfortable or after I’ve had a coffee and there’s no time for a full teeth clean! Even if I’m just heading out for a coffee, shopping, into town or whether I’m travelling or going to work, you’ll always find me with a bottle of water. I find that I get headaches really easily if I don’t top up my beverage levels!
I’ve always thought that mismatched, crazy Christmas trees have so much more personality that perfect decorated, stuck to a colour theme trees. This post is short and sweet today but I just had to share the cutest Harrods Christmas decorations that I’ve added to my tree this year. I mean, how cute is Hugh the bear in ornament form? I’m also 100% obsessed with the sparkly tartan beauty and the purple, ivory and gold tear drop shaped bauble.
